I've done a lot of laptop repair, and have run into similar issues with various laptops. What you've described sounds to me like a problem in the power circuit on the motherboard. There are a number of things that can cause this, and, generally, none of them are an easy fix - blown capacitor, bad power IC, bridged leads on a relay. If you have any experience working with integrated circuits, you can always test the power loop on the laptop with a multimeter. However, you may want to look into obtaining a warranty repair, or purchasing an extended warranty so that you can get a warranty repair; if there has been no user error(i.e. fluids spilled on the computer, dropped computer, left in excessive heat or humidity), then its a factory defect on the motherboard.
Hope this helps!

If the docking station charging doesn't work either and your battery is ok you have lost voltage regulator (it prevents overcharging of battery) Take the battery to a battery plus store and they can check it..

try removing the battery and removing the adaptor press and hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds then let got this will power drain your system board noy turn the system on using the battery only without any adaptors to charge or power the system, try turning the system on if the system turnes on leave it turned on for a couple of hours then conenct your sysem adaptor monitor if the battery light and the battery indicator on the lower right of the screen in windows woll indicate that the system is chargin if it is then I believe everything should be fine the blue indicator is for your system if it is blue then your system is turned on and has power if it turned orange and blnking then the battery will be more likely be almost out of juice or may need charging.
