Can mobile network jammers block bluetooth

Yes and No!

Most Jammers can block bluetooth communication, but not all jammers can do that. Jammers are special devices used to interfere with communication frequencies and various signals have different frequencies. Most jammers today can block every communication signal including 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi but jammers are occasion specific and you can easily find the type of jammer you want. Jammers can be customized to suit your jamming requirement.

Innovatiview is one such provider that lets you customize your jammer.

I have a 1999 Buick Century. When I plug my GPS power adapter into the cigarette lighter outlet, I blow the fuse. ---Can you suggest a solution? ---How many amps are in that...

Probably a 15 to 20 amps..If you use the cigarette lighter does it also blow the fuse ,you may have a short in the circuit..It should be able to handle the GPS..Dont increase the fuse size, you can cause bigger problems

I bought at Garmin Nuvi 1300 GPS for my daughter for Christmas. She just tried to use it for the first time yesterday and it doesn't fit the cigarette lighter. What can we do now???

It's strange if the plug doesn't fit the cigarette lighter socket. They can be a tight fit so if you find it a little big for the socket try putting pressure on it to push it in. If it absolutely won't fit you can buy cigarette lighter plugs in car accessory shops. If you can get one that does fit you can cut the one that's on the lead off and fit the new one.

If you cannot get any plug to fit you can get the lead wired permanently into the car. Any garage would be able to do it for you.

Removing vehicle locator from my dodge caravan

An easier way is to get a gps jammer. They make nice ones for cheap. Check the import sites from china. They make a small unit that plugs into cig lighter socket, and is no bigger than your thumb.

Installation / wiring

Yes, you can do what you said above. The only issue I see is that you should still add an inline fuse between the GPS and the power source you will be connecting it to.** SEE NOTE BELOW **
The cigarette lighter plug has a fuse in it. Most of the fuses you have in the car start at 5 Amps and go up in value, like 10A, 20A, etc.

The problem is these values are way too high should the GPS have a catastrophic failure or the GPS power leads get pinched or shorted to ground. You'll burn up the GPS and its wiring before the auto fuse blows.

You need a low rated fuse (probably 1/4A) inline with the GPS. This will give you adequate protection. You can buy inline fuse cords at Radio Shack.

** NOTE **
Check to make sure that the DC output of the cigarette adapter is indeed +12VDC and not some lower voltage indicating that there is an internal regulator circuit. I took a look at the 660 owners manual and it says the GPS input voltage is +12VDC, so you should be ok. I also hear there is some electronics inside of the cigarette lighter plug. It may have to do with charging the internal GPS battery. You could always take apart the cigarette plug and remove the internal board and use it in your hard wiring to your vehicle.

Once you get it all working, you could duplicate what you built for another vehicle. You can buy the cigarette adapters online.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
- Jim
