SOURCE: MR5 Mk1 studio monitor. The HF driver works; the LF driver does not. What's wrong?

An internal connection could be broken. You will have to open up your monitor to find out.

How do i change the diaphram in a peavey pr 15 speaker

Take the hf driver off, then disassemble the old diaphragm and insert the new one, check the light bulb at crossover network to avoid late issues.

I have a peavey SP4XT Cabinet . the cross over network has a bi amp input for HF and LF jacks and these work for both LF HF output . Also on this network is two input quarter inch jacks for full range...

The chokes blocks high frequency, the capacitors block low frequency. You would need a digital multimeter to check for continuity. Make sure none of the resistor is burnt, which may not be obvious.

How to change the hf unit?

a new diaphragm can be fitted into the original driver and the speaker will be like brand new. first you must determine if you have the older RCF version (M44TI) or the newer Mackie versions (0008093). There is only one RCF diaphragm that will work for this repair and they are scarce. There are both authentic and aftermarket Mackie diaphragm options and both work very well.

I have a set of JBL JRX125 (s) and the high end won't work on them. Not sure if I blew a fuse or the cone or what. The only audio I can get to come through them is low end.

Hi hoit

They will have either blown high frequency compression driver, or the lamp mounted to the crossover board has failed. Best way to check is pull the horn flare out of the speaker box, and check the voice coil of the HF driver(JBL2412). I think they are 8 ohms from memory. If they are shorted, or more likely open circuit then this is you problem. If they appear ok, then check the lamps. The lamps are there to protect the horns from being overdriven, odd lucks means I have seen it work the other way.
If the JBL part is too pricey for you (they are for me), you can get aftermarket replacements from many places for about $40 each. It is a replacement diaphragm that you need for each HF driver.

I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, please get back to me here, or use the ASK function to go straight to me :) If you are still unsure, have problems, or we need to look at the situation more deeply, then before you give a rating for this advice, hit the ASK button Thanks for using FixYa, If you consider the advice I have given you as sound, a FixYa rating is a great reward for my efforts to help you. Tweeter not working on 15" EON G2

I have the same problem and the same conditions.
The tweeter is good, 3.8 ohms.
Some points of solding (donuts), have bad aspect.
I resolder the power transistors to the PCB and I solve the problem.

Blown Compression Drivers

This unit features 2 -10" passive speakers and HF horn/driver. If you are blowing the HF driver, the problem is with overdriving the high range of EQ. At sustained high volumes, the voice coil of HF driver will overheat and open. If you still have effective warranty, ask Yamaha to replace drivers. Fixed,-- back off higher frequencies of EQ, turn down volume.

Tweeter "drive" out on wharfedale svp - 15

Hi bertsteenrt

Can you check the resistance of the HF driver(tweeter). If it is open it will need a new diaphragm. Most of these speakers use a lamp to act as protection for the HF driver. Sometimes these lamps fail. You will need to pull the horn out of the cabinet to check, and the rear connection panel off to get access to the crossover where the lamp is located. Get back to me here and I can talk you through fault finding the speaker.
