If the cleaner is getting stuck on objects (steps, ladder, corners, benches, etc), you need to remove the dive float restrictor and install a wall climb adjuster. It is part number K12065. Anyone that sells Pentair products should have one. This will keep your pool cleaner from becoming stuck. It might also help with the seal problem, but that is most likely something caught in the flapper. Check to be sure that the pool cleaners getting proper flow and that the flapper is clear of debris.

You cleaner was probably overheating from being stuck on the stairs. To ensure that the pool cleaner does not get stuck on stairs, there are a few things that you can do. Utilize return flow by making sure that your return inlets are pointing downward and toward the center of the pool during cleaning. Confirm that you have proper hose length. Adjust the flow to your cleaner or adjust hose weight. Finally, you can install a wheel deflector if necessary.

Zodiac Pacer getting stuck near lower steps in shallow end of pool.

There are several things that you will want to check if these pool cleaners are becoming hung on your pool steps. make sure that you are utilizing your return flow. If the return jets are not positioned properly, it will cause issues with steps. Position the return line directional so that you can only detect water movement on the surface 8 feet out from the wall, and aim it at the center of the opposite wall. In addition to your return lines, you will also want to confirm proper hose length and weight. Make any adjustments to the flow needed if it is too strong. If these options don't work, you will need to install a wheel deflector (#W69647).

It comes off, just not easily. You want to pull up with more pressure being put on one side so you allow the "teeth" holding it on there to start to come lose. Then it will come off. If you can't do it a pool professional should be able to do it for you.

have you tried adding hose weights? The hose is often a problem with these pool cleaners getting caught on corners or steps. You might also want to add a Wheel Deflector (PN W83278) if you have adjusted the hose and it still gets caught. If it is hanging on ladders, consider adding a Ladder Guard (#W24000). These are both optional parts that should prevent the problem if added.

How do i remove the wheel deflector from a zodiac pool cleaner?

Here is a copy of the users manual for these automatic pool cleaners. Check out the diagrams in the section on wheel deflectors. There is a groove that you are going to have to work the deflector over to remove it.

The best way to remove it is to make sure its not ice cold. It will snap off but be careful and gentle. You might try either adding a hose or taking one off to prevent the sticking. Also, try changing the hoses from one end to the other.
