The diodes that are transforming AC to DC from the secundary winding are fryed... replace them with new ones. the mainproblem is that you must break all the seals of the power supply to do this, so it is wiser to go to a repair center for this if you don't have experience with fixing electronics. Alternatively you can use a Unintreruptible Power Supply ( UPS ) to regulate the current fed in the power supply as power spikes are the main cause of this kind of malfunctions.

The flashing power and signal lights are caused by 4 bad capacitors on the main driver board. Here is a link to information showing where they are and how to replace them.

My 661-3184 Power supply keeps clicking.... motherboard does not turn on any help please?!

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

IBM L190 LCD - the LED beside the power button corner cycles green for 1 second, off for 1 second as soon as it is plugged in. The unit won't power up, the LED just cycles green/off whenever it is plugged...

It's clear the problem is the display, but you can still try these 1. unplug and replug while the both is on 2. turn on, off couple of times 3. keep the LCD on for about one hour these are anyway temporary fixes :(

When i power it on on battery power it opens showing the Garmin sign and after 5 seconds flashes off and them back on and keeps cycling. When I plug it into DC power and my computer it will power up and...

A file might have corrupted on the system.

If you uploaded some POI file just before the crash, it might be a defective POI database. You can delete it by booting in test mode (turn device off, press on the lower left corner, keeping pressed turn the device on, wait for the test menu to appear. If the unit stays on, you can connect it to a computer and see its memory, locating the poi.gpi file in the POI folder. Move it on your computer (just to have a backup; one never knows), safely remove and disconnect the USB device from the PC and power cycle the Nuvi).

Assuming it's not the POI, you will have to perform the Firmware Restore on your device (or you might install the newest firmware from Garmin, as well). When in Test Mode (see above), the Garmin Web Updater function should work: http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp

Also, you may try a Master Reset:

well that could be because the screen is going bad. you might want to get another one or take it in to get it fixed, no more than 100 to fix your screen.

Cycles on and off

check the power cables and make sure about power fluctuation issues on your eletric system. the power cable may be loose of cut from inside-out. if it's a malcontact issue, try to use something to keep the power cable in place. duct-tape may help. that's the solution i can give you by your description. try to solve this as fast as you can, since this power-on and power-off cycles reduce considerably the monitor's lifespan.

My Dell optiplex 170L keeps turining off and then

Possible that it's caused by a faulty hardware or a computer virus on your computer. For us to isolate the issue we must start troubleshooting with the hardware

1. Remove all the connection at the back of your computer
2. Power cycle your computer tower by pressing the power button for 15 seconds
3. Plug the power cord back in and monitor cable at the back of your computer tower (if it turned on, meaning that one of the device plugged at the back of your computer is the one's causing the problem, for you to pin point the problem, try plugging it one-by-one and turn on the computer each time you plug a device)
4. If it keeps on doing that, open up your computer tower (be careful to unplug the power cord and power cycle it to avoid static electricity)
5. Reseat the video card, turn on the computer again, if it's still occurring
6. Reseat the IDE/Sata cable of your hard drive and try to make sure it's properly plugged in, turn on the computer again, if it's still occurring
7. Reseat the memory, turn on the computer and test it again if the same thing
8. If you have 2 memory chip inserted in your computer tower memory slot, remove the other one and turn on the computer, do the same thing to other memory and each slot
9. If all else fails, restart the computer and keep on pressing F8 before the window welcome screen comes up - to go to advanced boot options
10. Boot to Safemode
11. If you are able to boot to Safemode
12. Login as administrator
13. Click start
14. run
15. type msconfig then press enter
16. click on startup tab and click on disable all button at the bottom part
17. Restart the computer and let it start normally
18. if the same thing happen, boot to safemode again
19. Login to administrator again
20. Right click my computer
21. Click on properties
22. Click on Advanced Tab
23. Click on settings button under Startup and Failure
24. Uncheck the Automatically restart under System failure
25. Restart the computer in normal mode
26. Tell us if you see any blue screen error, if so, post the error here

if all else fail, your operating system needed to be reinstalled and you should have the cd for the operating system if it's XP or Vista or Windows 7.

Drain pump won't turn off, all lights are blinking

Try pushing the cancel button. Try holding the cancel button down. If it'll let you select a cycle, try running a cycle. Try putting a large volume of water in there. It might either clear the pump or it will "see" the water going out be satisfied. If it remembers the cycle you last ran, or which cycle you usually run, run a cycle that it's not used to. That helps clear the computer some dishwashers. Failing that, try turning the circuit breaker off for a minute. Press every button on the dishwasher. There's a chance that that will help drain any power stored, making the computer forget what condition it was in. Failing that, try turning the circuit breaker off or for a day or two. Failing that, if you know what you're doing and you're not worried about voiding the warranty, open up the control panel where the main circuit board is. We can assume that if it remembered this cycle with the power turned off for a while that there's a battery in there to keep from clearing the memory. Find the little button cell battery and take it out for a few minutes. Then put it back in and turn the power on. There may a reset button hidden inside there or somewhere else on the machine. Find the manual at home or on the internet and look in the troubleshooting section. There might be a specific button combination to clear that condition.
To keep this from happening in the future, pick up and install a dishwasher air gap for around $15. It's really easy and keeps water from backing up into the dishwasher. They're actually required in a lot of cities.

Different color test patterns keep cycling .

This could be a computer or monitor problem. The reason that display shows up is because the monitor is not getting a power good signal from the computer. If a monitor doesn't get a power good signal it goes into test mode. It could be the monitor has a fault that is not allowing it to detect the computer, or the video card or computer itself isn't functioning properly. If you can, hook the monitor to a computer that you know is working properly. This will tell for sure if it is the monitor or not, and eliminate that possiblity. Then you will know if it is the monitor or computer. If the computer is the problem you'll need more help troubleshooting it.
