This is a capstan code you are getting. It just means the capstan motor which pulls the tape via a toothes belt and reel table ,has stoped when it shouldn't. Lots of things can cause this. I start by cleaning and dring the tape path then check reel torque and see if anything is binding the capstan. I have also seen a flex cable open up on these ls chassis that bring up this code.

Using a RESET button

  1. Locate the RESET button on the camcorder.

  2. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds.

  3. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.

Performing a manual power reset

  1. Turn off the camcorder.

  2. Disconnect AC power adapter.

  3. Remove the battery pack.

  4. Remove the lithium button-cell battery.

  5. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds.

  6. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position.

  7. Reinsert the lithium button-cell battery.

  8. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack.

  9. Turn on the camcorder.

If your camcorder is experiencing an issue and the issue is not resolved by performing the appropriate reset procedure above, then service may be required.

Sony Camcorders before the year 2000 like the TR517 have no reset button (1999)

I put this 1st option in for those who have more current camcorders, for the TR 517 you must use the 2nd option

What is causing my 1994 dodge Spirit to cut out while I'm driving?? I've changed the coil and that alleviated the problem for like an hour... now the dang thing is rite back to cutting out.... I...

How long since overall tune-up? Did you check for applicable trouble codes? You should be able to check some codes, yourself.
Cycle the key, on--off, on--off, on, then the check engine lite on the dash starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit code, example, a code 24, is two quick flashes a slight pause then four flashes.
If I replace an ignition coil, I usually replace spark plugs and plug wires, also. Could be other issues besides spark?

My car starts but cuts out when i try to... my car starts but cuts out when i try to put it in gear. runs fine when im driving.

Have you tried cycling key for fault codes? Turn ignition to on (not start) then off, then on, then off, then on, leave it on, and count flashes of check engine light.
flash, flash, pause, flash flash, is code 22. 3 flashes, pause, then 5 flashes, would be code 35, etc. See what you get, & get back to us with them if you need more help.
