SOURCE: My cordless Black & Decker

Most likely it is the switch has gone bad or just a loose connection on the switch . you can take it apart and check the switch connections and make sure they all have a good connection. If they do then you should take a volt meter and make sure that when you puch the button they get proper voltage if not then order a switch and replace it .

Question about Kawasaki cordless screwdriver. Model 200/min (Walmart, Home Depot) Battery registers as charged, but the bit will not turn. Does not appear locked.

Some cordless screwdrivers give every indication they are charged when, in fact, they are not. Either the charger or battery is defective.

I've got this old drill/screwdriver that won't take/hold a charge, I see you may have a solution for that; you responded that you could help . . . . what do I need to do to get it charged again?

cordless drill or screwdriver that won't charge usually has a bad set of rechargeable batteries so these need to be replaced, if replacements are available.

What settings on a universal charger do I use for a Black & Decker 2.4 V cordless screwdriver

I would say that a output voltage of not more than 2.8 volt and the output amp should not exceed 60% of the Amp hour rating of the battery. Example if the battery is a 2000 mah battery the charging amp should not be more than 1400 milli amp or 1.4 amp

New dp240 screwdriver wont charge

Take it back and get a Makita or Millwauke Tools cordless screwdriver of at least 14.4V. B&D isn't what it used to be! Neither is Ryobi!

Black & Decker Nickel Cadmimum replacement battery

Check the store where you purchased the screwdriver but you will find its cheaper to buy a new screwdriver with new batteries than to buy just the batteries.

My old black & decker power screw driver will not accept a charge. I cannot get it charged up.

Black & Decker stopped doing battery packs for the older screwdrivers, like the 9018, some time ago so you cannot get them.

However you can still buy replacement NiCad, Sub C, 1.2v, tagged batteries that will do the job on the older 2.4v models as NiCad batteries for use in power tools are exempt under the European ban on importing NiCad batteries where used in power tools (Specific Exemption).

When you open up the screwdriver look at the positioning of the batteries and the tags/connectors and solder them together the same way.

So all you need is a soldering iron to join the centre tags together and then trim the end tags, top and bottom, to the width of the live/negative connectors and you have got a new battery pack.

It doesn't have to be pretty but after a small investment and a little effort it sure beats paying out £30 to £50 for a new screwdriver. I have done this for my older Black & Decker and Bosch screwdrivers which all work like new again.
