On the passenger side footwell. On the left, one philips screw to remove carpet panel. Black plastic piece needs to be removed, some have plastic nut to turn to remove. Some just pull towards the back of the carfuse panel diagram 2002 - icon1.png and down at the same time. Tucked in there is the blower resistor "blower switch" with a 4 or 5 wire connector on it. With right hand push on tabs and remove connector. Then with right thumb and index finger grab the blower resistors connector and with your middle finger push down on the plastic tab and pull out. When installing new one make sure to line up the guide pin.

2002 Town/Country Van. Front, no airflow. Fuse/Wiring good. Replaced resistor. Dualsystem flows in back. How do I check if the blower motor is bad? Could it be something other than the blower motor?

Video's on youtube showing how to diagnose blower motor electrical circuit , need a DMM - digital multi-meter . Did you check the blower motor relay ? Do you know what a relay is an how it works ? Free wiring diagram's here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter the vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size . Under system click on HVAC ,then under subsystem click on HVAC controls . Click the search button ,then the blue link's . Does your vehicle have manual or automatic climate control . Looking at the wiring diagram your vehicle doesn't have a resistor ,has a blower motor module .

Where is the blower motor relay in the fuse panel in a 2002 ford explorer

The relay is located in the fuse panel (power distribution box) located in the engine comaprtment. Below is a picture of the location of that panel and a diagram of the fuses and relays. The blower motor relay is the one located in the number 55 position. This should be in your owners manual if you have one. If you don't and would like a copy, you can email me at [email protected] with your make, model and year and I will be happy to email you a copy. I hope this helps and good luck.

I am trying to figure out which relay is for the front blower motor. anyone know?

Hi!!
Look ion the INSTRUMENT PANEL Fuse Box, there are two blower motor relays and two fuses, look on the inside of the relay cover for a diagram. The relay you are looking for should be labeled FRONT BLOWER MOTOR RELAY and the rear one should say AUXILIARY BLOWER MOTOR RELAY.
The TWO fuses with the same name on passenger compartment fuse box check:
  • fuse #39 30A fuse. AUXILIARY BLOWER MOTOR
  • fuse #36 30A fuse. AUXILIARY BLOWER RELAY

My air conditioner/heater blower will not work on the 4th setting. Setting 1,2, and 3 do work. I have replaced fan speed switch and replaced the resistor. Any ideas?

You'll have to find the correct wiring diagram in order to trace down the fault in your system.. Once you obtain the wiring diagram you'll be able to see what else beside wire is between the #4 speed setting and the blower motor. My guess is you might find a high speed fan relay is triggered from the #4 fan switch setting, applying full battery voltage to the blower motor. If locating the appropriate diagram proves to be difficult you can try looking around the underhood and passenger compartment fuse panel to find a relay. Keep in mind not all relays are always in fuse boxes which makes the diagram important.
