Right-click My Computer/Computer and go to Properties, should show available/in use RAM. Alternatively you can hit control alt delete and look at Task Manager.

I have changed my boot order in bios to CD drive first but windows keeps loading first, how can I stop this and boot straight from the CD drive?

This only works if you have a bootable disc inserted. It will auto roll to next item in boot sequence. Test disc elsewhere if this the case.

My pc is running low on virtual memory when i use the internet

In general, you want to set your minimum virtual memory to about 3 times the total amount of memory installed in the machine.(3072MB for each gig of ram) The maximum should be 4096 more than the minimum setting.
To check this, right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties". Click on the "Advanced" tab and click the "Settings" button in the "Performance" section. On the "Performance Options" panel, click the "Advanced" tab. The virtual memory button is at the bottom (on xp machines). Selcect "custom" and then set the values according to how much ram you have in the machine. For more, check here.

Hi. I have a HP Colour Laserjet MFC 2840. All I want to do is to fully erase the Memory (Standard 96MB Total). Erasing the Faxes, which I have done from the front panel, does not erase the stored pages...

Hi Bruce,

I am curious why you think you need to erase the memory. This machine will not store scans or copies in memory. If you are looking at the configuration page and it shows only a smaller amount of available memory that is due to the fact that these machines reserve a certain amount of memory for downloadable fonts on what is referred to as a ramdisk. You may be able to disable the ramdisk feature or reduce the amount of memory reserved for this and you will find that option either through the control panel under system setup or you can use the embedded web service to view it from your internet browser if you have the machine attached to a home network.

How do I get my webcam to work. I have e525 emachine

Hi

Might be worth checking if your device drivers are installed correctly.

Link for drivers is here: http://support.emachines.com/em/driver/nb/e525.html

If you are using MSN you may have to use the Audio and Video setup wizard to configure it to work correctly. Pretty straight forward as long as you just follow the steps.

Emachines laptop e525 mouse pad not working at all so cannot use everything else starting up as normal

Look at the middle cover (above the keyboard). there are two buttons that touch the power switch, the one to the left enables/disables the touchpad. If it shows an orange light it is disabled. Just press it, and be careful not to hit it when turning unit on.

I have an acer extensa 5620-6830 with 1g memory on a dual core which means I only have 512m for each core. Right? What is the most memory I can add and not having done this before what kind of memory chip...

DUAL CORE refers to the amount or cores your PROCESSOR has, Memory indicates the TOTAL amount for the WHOLE SYSTEM, NOT the cores or the precessor. You should be able to max out your memory @ 4gb, but check your machine specs at Acer website for Max amount and type.
