Question about Casio Exilim EX-Z750 Digital Camera

3 Answers

Lost functionality Camera is about a year old. Suddenly, zoom doesn't work, Set button doesn't work and Display button doesn't work. Other than that, it takes pics and displays them. But without the Set button, I can't change settings. Any ideas?

Re: Lost functionality

Sorry, after Casio's customer no-service would not give me an estimate or even acknowledge that this is a known problem (as you can see, many others have had this problem), why would you want to send it to them and pay them more money to fix a problem with their product? Well, I didn't and got my camera fixed cheaper. I eneded up sending my ex-z850 to Tim at Tim sent an estimate upfront and was very timely in responding and then fixing my camera and sending it back. It cost around $60-70 and I have my camera back again. I won't be buying another Casio due to their lack of product support, but I'm glad to have my camera back for a reasonable repair fee!

Re: Lost functionality

I suppose I should offer my comment as a solution?

I too have the exact same problem, with a EX-Z850, and an online search turns up others with similar Casio Exilim models, with the same problem. It involves a malfunctioning Disp, Zoom, and non-functioning Set button, with all other functions working OK. Casio Support seems to recognize the problem, and indicates it has to be fixed at one of their authorized repair centers. Start with their online system:

For several years my C-3020 zoom camera has worked fine. Suddenly, now when I take a picture, the picture leaves when I snap the shutter. Always before the picture remained on the screen so I could see if...

In the camera menu, there should be a setting for "review" to allow you to set the number of seconds the picture remains on the screen. Also, you can always review the pictures you've taken by pressing the review button on the's usually a button with an arrow that points to the right.

Zoom feature not working

So you're pressing the Zoom button but it has no effect, am i correct?

There can be 2 issues - small (dust/moisture), not small(inside button gone bad).

Small Issue: Keep the camera in sunlight(not very hot) for a while. (not loaded). Wipe off with clean lint-free cotton cloth. Keep it again in sunlight for a while. If moisture is the issue then it should go off, though i have seen in some cases it took 3-4 days and suddenly it started working.

If still no response from Zoom then the internal zoom small button has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Send it for repairs.

Fuji FinePix S700 Problem

Try to put it on super macro and see if this will reset the zoom function.
Also try to switch between the settings that allow the digital zoom, as compaired to those settings that only allow optical zoom.
If these do not work, you may have a lens that has been dropped, or is stuck, and may need to be serviced. I have the S700, and have never seen this error before> good luck.
