Samsung Live Chat was not helpful, though they were a fair sight better than the person I got over the phone (not her fault, but strong English seems like a necessity when providing customer service in Canada).

SOURCE: Samsung Rear Projection HD tv IC convergence green only messed up now. Help please

To check the pico fuses you're merely testing for continuity. If you get an infinate reading you're in good shape - if it doesn't budge the meter the fuse is open... That's a really easy set to work on for convergence problems - the convergence board is easily removed..
Another cause for mis-alignment like that are the youke return resistors... There are several out front of the convergence amps that may have changed in value. They are 3.9 ohm - 2w resistors and will look identical to Rz123 and Rz124 (same banding). For those simply select a low ohm setting on the meter and check to see if any of them have some way low or way high reading...
Need anything else just ask...

SOURCE: My TV pictures turns black afetr a few hours but I still can hear sound perfectly!!!

It sounds like your rptv lamp is going out. If this is an older DLP this is most likely the cause. You can get a replacement at www.laptopsforless.com part number BP96-00224J for $151. If the tv is still under warranty, I would have them do it, otherwise replace it yourself. If so here is a link to give you step by step instruction. Please give me a good rating. ;-)

SOURCE: Samsung HLN5065W problem

Power issues (Tv True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 clip_image002.gif not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 clip_image002.gif is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.

How do I repair a system that boots to the Windows 7 logo and then reboots itself a second time?

I agree (in part) with "map9966's" answer, but instead of trying to blindly load the "last known good configuration", You really should try the Windows Startup Repair option. This option should also be located in the "safe mode" menu, which again access by repeatedly pressing F8 right after turning on the PC. Once you get to the menu stop pressing F8.

Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, highlight the choice which reads (something to the effect of) "startup repair". The PC then *should* "boot" to the start up repair mode. This mode is an automatic utility, and can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the speed of your PC, the severity of file system damage and the underlying cause of your start-up loop. Let the utility finish, (again, this WILL take awhile.. go have yourself a snack, take a walk, watch some TV..) Once it's done, restart the PC.

In most circumstances (assuming the start-up loop isn't due to a hardware failure), your PC should boot up just fine. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me!

XBR 4 vertical black band, ghosting/smearing, getting worse.

Hi, I have a similar issue which is progressively getting worse. My TV is on a sliding mount, and interestingly enough, sometimes I can "jilt" it by hitting it and it clears. This seems to me to be a connector problem, where heat (thermal expansions, electrical resistances) can introduce degrading signal. Now if I could find a manual on how to take this damn thing apart.......Certainly does't solve the warranty issue, but at least gives a reason for one to kick their TV.

I have a samsung LCD tv but the i cant get the touch buttons on the tv to work

All I can tell you to do that might help is to unplug the set from it's power source for 5 minutes, then reconnect it and try. Also, look to make sure one button is not stuck in the engaged position. I've done the Samsung warranty work for several years on those sets and only recall needing parts for this problem once. It was front control pcb and required major disassembly and reassembly. Hope that helps fixya.
