Will the transaxle from a Husqvarna GTH 2448T Hydro Gearr part # 316-0610 bolt into a Husqvarna LGT 2654 that currently has a broken axle in a Tuff Torq transaxle

Yes, the axle will fit the frame, but the pulleys and idlers will need to be set up. There is no cross reference chart so you would have to create the belt routing by trial and error. Belt length would also have to be determined.

How do I check the transmission fluid level in a Cox Kingcat ride on mower What grade do I use to top it up

Depends if your has an external expansion or not. Normally you do don't need to check these transaxles as they are considered sealed units but if you wish to do so the following is the two documents from Tuff Torq on how do it.

Info on repairing transmission, install belts

This transmission will be a Tuff Torq K46 series. You will need to look along the transmission's drive axle housing to get the model number. From there you can look-up the parts at Tuff Torq website under their catalog page. There is no service manuals that I know of but I did find a discussion on about repairing the K46 that has pics. See links below:

As belt installation will have the IPL for the mower.

Hydrogear transaxels take a multi grade oil 20-50 the filler is a brass plug on the top, there should be a 1/4" air gap at the top to allow for expasion, Tuff Torq units also take a multi grade oil 10-30, these units normally have a resevoir on the top with upper and lower fill marks.

Lawn tractor with a K57 Tuff Torq transaxle. Runs well at first but then slows down after about 10 minutes of use and then will have no power at all.

It sounds like the hyrostatic parts in the transaxle have worn to the point of failing. The alternative solutions: replace the tranaxle w/ a new one ($700-$1100 plus labor depending on exact K57 model as there are 6 sub models like K57A, K57R, K57V...etc); find and install a used compatible K57 known to work well probably run $400-600 or more; find someone that can open up your failed transaxle, diagnose which parts are worn, & replace/repair them. I've repaired the worn hydrostatic parts on my transaxle myself and it runs as good as new. It can be done. If you want to discuss having this done, email me at idakiteman at gmail dot com
