Question about Whirlpool 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Gas Range - White-on-White

Open Question

Whirlpool oven popping noise

I just started using the Whirlpool self-cleaning gas oven range (Model no. WFG231LVQ0). When I use the oven, there is a popping noise that continues throughout the baking process. It looks like when the burner below reaches a certain high temperature, the light dims, and then a few seconds later, there's a loud popping noise. The noise continues about every 3-5 minutes.

I'm not sure if there's a release of air, or it's the regulator (which my brother-in-law suggested), or what. It's brand new--purchased and installed by previous owner. Having trouble getting the original receipt from him, but plan on calling Whirlpool to see if there's a simple solution or the range needs servicing.

Any suggestions??? Thanks!

Probably a bad door lock solenoid. That is some kind of door lock problem. Trouble is they are not all the same. This training manual shows locations of model number. Perhaps if you post that I might can come up with a tech sheet and you would get a better answer. see page 4

Cannot find my book, need to remember how to start self clean process, gas whirlpool oven...thanks

Usually a lever hidden right under the cooktop above the door that needs to be flipped to lock the door closed. then you set it to clean and let it go for hours.

Peace,

When I try to start the self-cleaning oven, ''door'' appears in the display, and then the display goes to F5 E1. The door doesn't even try to lock. I have a Whirlpool Self-cleaning electric range Model #...

there are switches under the cooktop that go bad frequently. i do not recommend ever using the self clean mode in an oven. the oven gets so hot that things have a tendency to melt because they dont build stuff like they used to. there is inadequate insulation in modern ovens. use easy off and follow the label directions. it'll be cheaper in the long run, trust me.
