That means that it is not getting enough fuel to the carb. Check your tank for fuel and the hose and filter inside. Make sure all the hoses are attached right and are not broken or leaking.

Also close the adjustment carb screws all the way in. Then open them one turn back to start . Try to start the saw. Then make adjustments to the low adjustment screw. If any of these don't work try a known working carburetor. See if that makes a difference.

Try spraying some starting fluid or carburetor cleaner into the engine an see if it will keep running ! Have you tried holding the throttle open a little or are you just letting it idle ? Any lights lit on dash , check engine ?

Try TPS. Throttle positioning Sensor. This sets base idle. (Unless this model is too old for that sensor)

It takes to lot start it wont stay running if i have the chock out part way out it will run but it needs head gasket could it be that

If it needs a head gasket, what else is wrong.? It won't run right at all without the proper back pressure, Is it water cooled? Also sounds like the slow speed jets are clogged, did it sit for a while? Need to check that out, those things have to be spotless, or it won't idle or start. Hope this helps.

Runs great at hwy speed pops and slow response when you stop

Sounds like a lean condition. Adjust the carburator for a richer idle mixture.

it sounds like the new idle you put in is set too low so the truck is getting barely enough gas to start and keep running try turning up the air fuel mixture and it should be better hope this helped

I cant remember what I had replaced about 5-6 months ago, seems like it was a sensor. My 1993 Ford Explorer is not running or idling at normal speed. When I pull up to stop it is like it stays engaged and...

listen for a hissing noise(vacuum leak around the pcv elbows or upper intake gaskets) this will cause a high idle set off lean codes which will say bad o2 sensors alson check idle air control valve which is located by throtlle body this will stick causing the vehichle to not run at idle sometimes taking it off and cleaning the carbon buildup out will fix the problem use some break cleaner
