If you have a disk inside, get a paper clip and straighten it. Locate a tiny hole on the "door" usually next to eject button. Poke the paper clip in gently and push when you feel resistance. Remove your disk and claim warranty from your supplier

Reseat hard drive

The hard drive can be removed and reconnected (reseating) by removing the screw/s on the bottom of the laptop. The hard drive compartment will have disk symbol. Open the laptop lid slightly before you slide out the hard drive. Insert the hard drive back into the laptop so it makes proper connection.replace the screw/s.
Boot up the laptop, if it does not boot up then power off and power up and press F1 to go into IBM BIOS setup - check to see if the hard disk is detected. If not then the hard disk is faulty and needs to be replaced then Windows needs to be installed on the new hard disk to get the laptop operating again.

The main problem is the hard disk switch off the laptop and remove the battery from its compartment then remove the hardisk cover and remove the hard disk from its compartment now replace the cover and insert the battery to its compartment and switch on your laptop and see wether the system show boot error if you can see the boot error and when you connect the hard you doesnt go till there it means you have a problem with the hard disk

Right click on My Computer, then click on Manage. A new window will open. In that window there is menu on left side pane. In that menu, find Disk Management and click on it. Now you see your hard disk along its partitions. Right click on any unpartitioned and select create partition. Now enter the drive letter and the amount of memory you want to allocate. Hope this helps you!!!

All IDE hard drives are cross compatable. I would think you have eaither bent a pin inside the carriage compartment or your IDE adapter is either not pushed on the new HD good or is bad.

note yet..............the hard disk is the problem.
did you by mistake drop the laptop or someone did. It may have sloted out of place and sometimes makes it not function well. sometimes a little tap at the disk compartement side could solve a shifted disk which can be the case here or try opening the hard disk compartment with the appropiate screw drivee, remove the disk and reinsert it again and make sure it fits firmly. if you are within warranty period do return it to be atttended to by a technician or counsult a local technician for help.
good luck.

Hi!
Try to reboot your computer. If still you cant open it after rebooting. Click my computer icon. using right click then select disk management then try to see the condition if your drives are present. If its present but it is not found in the display you try to check your Hard disk drive to another computer and scan for viruses.

Hi there.

When you turn the laptop on, keep pressing Alt+F10. This should open the recovery program. Follow the on-screen instructions for factory settings.

Let me know if this does/doesn't work.
