It sounds like you have the hot and cold water lines to the washer reversed.  Try turning off the tap for the hot water then setting the washer to just cold wash and then  hot washif you get nothing on the cold and cold water when set to hot they are probably reversed.  Typically if the auto-temp control is broken you will only get hot or cold coming out on any setting.

SOURCE: My washing machine (dwd-wd32ws) only uses hot water to wash!

hi,

try and switch your hot and cold water hoses around the other way. it should start the cycle with hot and rinse cold.. If it still does it you may have to have it serviced..

Maytag atlantis mav600 wont heat up the cold water? brought today, we have no hot water pipe only cold the man who sold it to us says it heats up cold, does anyone know how to put it on this setting

This being a new unit you can check the manual and confirm if there is a HOT WASH. If so all what is needed is to SELECT THE HOT WASH which normally if the best wash and the longest. In this case the wattage will be specified and also the program cycle of the hot wash will be indicated.
I am not sure of this model and so needs to confirm if there is a heating element for the hot wash cycle.

My Maytag clothes washer won't fill with hot water

Then you most likely have a bad hot water valve. On Maytags the valve is one combo unit for both hot and cold. Maytag didn't change that much for a number of years, so you may be able to salvage one out of an old machine somewhere and fit it in -- that's what I did when my wife's Maytag did this.

washer may not be detecting water temp but water flow ..if you never use hot water may try hooking cold water to a Y-connector and then hooking to both hot and cold inlet valves ..however it is also possible washer is detecting inlet temps in which case you're out of luck ..i suspect the latter

Water temperature

It sounds like your water inlet valve (also known as a Mixing Valve on some washers) HOT solenoid is sticking open. When you select either a hot or cold wash cycle, separate solenoids open or close to allow only cold water to enter the washer on the cold wash cycles and hot water to enter on the hot cycles. If the hot solenoid stays open, you will have hot water mixing with your cold water during the cold cycles. The result is warm water. I would recommend you replace the water inlet valve. This is a job the average DIYer can do. Please post back with your model number and I can assist you with locating a part number and/or give you specifics on how to access the valve to replace it.

Asko 12605 overheating the wash water

(even not taking in hot water when filling before the wash stage which seems good)

The washer fills with cold water then heats it up 3 degrees a min. Your problem does sound like a faulty thermostat. Especailly if the glass door does get hot even if it is on 85f.
