How to use the self clean feature for a Frigidaire FES 355 ASF

Hi Anonymous, this is AP!

I understand you are interested in the self-clean process for your Frigidaire slide in range, model FES355ASF. Start by removing all excess spillovers in the oven cavity before starting the self-cleaning cycle. To clean, use hot soapy water and a cloth. Large spillovers can cause heavy smoke or fire when subjected to high temperatures. Clean any soil from the oven frame and the door liner, but avoid cleaning the oven door gasket. These areas heat sufficiently during self-cleaning cycle to burn soil on. Clean with soap and water. Remove the oven racks, broiler pan and insert, all utensils and any foil. These items do not withstand high cleaning temperatures

Make sure the clock shows the correct time of day. Push the CLEAN button "---"will appear on display. Push the up arrow button until "3:00" appears for a 3 hour clean cycle or push the down arrow until "2:00" is displayed for a 2 hour clean cycle. Once the time is selected and released CLn will appear on the display. The door will then automatically lock and the LOCK indicator light will flash. Do not open the door while the indicator is flashing, usually about 15 seconds. The LOCK display will stay until the cleaning cycle is complete or cancelled, and the oven temperature has cooled to a safe temperature.

In the event you need to stop the cycle at any point, simply push the CLEAR OFF button and the door will automatically lock once the oven has cooled, usually about an hour.

Best of luck,

My maytag gemini oven has been stuck in sabbath mode for months and holding the clock button does not help. It does this everytime we lose power and it stays off for months and will turn on when ever it...

This is from the Maytag website it explains how to cancel the sabbath mode;

To cancel the Sabbath Mode:
Press the Clock pad for three seconds.
After 72 hours, the Sabbath Mode will end.
  • "SAb" will flash for five seconds.
  • The time of day will return to the display.
  • Sabbath Mode can be turned on at any time with or without the oven on.
  • Sabbath Mode cannot be turned on if the keypads are locked out or when the door is locked.
  • Most prompts and messages and all beeps are deactivated when Sabbath Mode is active.
  • If the oven is baking when Sabbath Mode is set, the Bake icon will go out at the end of the baking cycle. There will be no audible beeps.
  • If the oven light is desired while in Sabbath Mode, it must be turned on before the Sabbath Mode is started.
  • When the Sabbath Mode is started, the temperature display will immediately show the set temperature, rather than the actual oven cavity temperature. No preheat beep will sound.
  • The self-clean cycle and automatic door lock do not operate during the Sabbath Mode.
  • Pressing the Cancel pad will cancel a Bake cycle, however the control will stay in the Sabbath Mode.
  • If power fails, the oven will power up in Sabbath Mode with 72 hours remaining and no cycle active.

I hope this helps to return it to normal mode,

Oven temperature is inaccurate and takes a long time to heat to proper temp. I have replaced thermostat with no improvement.

To Adjust the Thermostat

  1. Touch the BROIL HI/LO and BAKE pads at the same time for 3 seconds until the display shows SF.
  2. Touch the BAKE pad. A two digit number shows in the display.
  3. Touch BAKE again to alternate between increasing and decreasing the oven temperature.
  4. The oven temperature can be adjusted up to (+) 35°F (19°C) hotter or (-) 35°F (19°C) cooler. Touch the number pads the same way you read them. For example, to change the oven temperature 15°F (8°C), touch 1 and 5.
  5. When you have made the adjustment, touch the START pad to go back to the time of day display. Use your oven as you would normally.

Electric oven does not work

After a power failure, some models will automatically resume their setting once the power is restored. On models with a clock, you must reset the clock. If the oven was in use, you must reset it by
pressing the CLEAR/OFF pad, setting the clock and resetting any cooking function.

To Set the Clock
The clock must be set to the correct time
of day for the automatic oven timing
functions to work properly. The time of day
cannot be changed during a timed baking
or self-cleaning cycle.
Touch the CLOCK pad twice.
Touch the + or – pads.
If the + or – pads are not touched within
one minute after you touch the CLOCK pad,
the display reverts to the original setting.
If this happens, touch the CLOCK pad and
reenter the time of day.
Touch the START/ON pad until the
time of day shows in the display. This
enters the time and starts the clock.
To check the time of day when the display is
showing other information, simply touch the
CLOCK pad. The time of day shows until another
pad is touched.

If you do not have the owner's use and care manual,
go to this website and get a free download
of your manual by clicking on your model #.
Once you have downloaded it, you can print it up.

Oven turns off and displayes F2,F3,and sometimes F4.

5550 The error code ?F2? will be displayed along with a beeping sound if the ERC (Electronic Range Control) or ?clock? senses a runaway heat condition during the ?cook? or the ?clean? modes. It could be caused by the oven temperature sensor, by the ERC or by the wire harness between the oven temperature sensor and the ERC. If the error code ?F2? is displayed in the ?cook? or ?clean? modes only, then the problem is a bad oven temperature sensor or its wire harness. If the error code ?F2? is displayed in the time of the day mode also, then most likely a problem is the bad ERC. The access to the oven temperature sensor plug and the wires is from the back only. You have to pull the oven out of the wall (if it?s free standing) or remove it from the cabinet (if it?s built in). Disconnect the power and remove the rear cover. Check the resistance across the oven temperature sensor. It is supposed to be about 1100 Ohms at room temperature. If the resistance is incorrect, the oven temperature sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. If not, check all the wires from the oven temperature sensor to the ERC. Replace all wire nuts if any. If it is not the sensor and wires, you have to replace the ERC. To get the right replacement part just click on the link , then type the model number of your oven in the search box, click on the ?search? button and in the new window type the word ?sensor? or the word ?clock? in the ?search by keyword? box and click the ?search? button.
