Sound like a bad receiver tank check valve. Located in top of the tank and the pop off valve is screwed into it. If check valve is good you need to remove the heads and check the finger valves. I believe you'll find your problem in the check valve

Wont shut off

Hi ethang...
Try to adjust the pressure shut off switch...sometimes they can also get a hole in the diaphram and leak enough air to cause a problem, if you cannot adjust your pressure switch to shut off then you will need to replace your pressure shut off switch it is defective.

Ingersall-Rand T 30 Model 2340 Motor overload trips when trying to fill air tank. How long should it take to fill the tank with air with tank empty. If tank is full it may cycle one time when using air.

You need to know the size of the tank before you can figure pump up time from empty to full. It sounds like you have a bad tank check valve. A bad check valve typically causes the motor overload to trip when starting.

Leaking air after shuts off at electrical box. What needs service?

hi, i dont know what kind of compressor you have, but sounds to me that the checkvalve is not closed. a smal pipe is going from the cilinder to the checkvalve(brass most of the times) and there goes also a smal hose to the pressureswitch. when the machine reaches its setpoint, the switch turns of electomotor and blows off the pressure in the cilinderhead and in the pipe. when the checkvalve is not closed it also blows off air from the tank. depressurise whole unit, take off the large bolt on the front of the checkvalve, take out valve, clean spring, valve and seat, and put back together. if you have a other type of compressor pleas let me know and we will find out whats wrong. good luck.

Ingersol T30 won't shut off and blows pressure release valve

the wire juction box on your compressor has a pressure switch that may be wound in to tight take the cover off the box there should be a switch with a machine screw with nut and washer and spring back this nut off and see if that helps if you go to far you just crank it back in until the switch hit although it may be the other way around you may have to tighten to lower the pressure some of them are made that way if this does not solve your problem send me a picture of the switch and can solve it from there

Air Compressor, low pressure

does the compressor keep running all the time but never gets above 40 or does it turn off at 40?
if it is turning off at 40 I would try using another gauge just to be sure it is 40psi, and if that is the case then you probably have a faulty pressure switch, if the compressor is constantly runnign but won't get past the 40psi then you may have a worn out compressor, check the oil for either a low level or if the oil is dirty, if it is you may just need to drain and refill but if that doesn't fix the issue then you will need to rebuild the compressor
