Question about Apple iPod Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Intellilink in Buick lists 992 songs on ipod nano 5th gen

Intellilink locked up with "indexing" error. Restored ipod. Worked for awhile then "indexing" error reoccurred. Restored ipod and filled in missing genre tags for all songs. No more "indexing" errors (yet) but Intellilink lists duplicate titles for most songs (up to 4 or 5). Intellilink shows 992 songs on the ipod when actually there are 224. Seems to be reading old deleated titles as well as actual current ones.

Buick dealer says that Intellilink is working properly and GM e-mailed that there are no available upgrades for Intellilink. I have an older ipod version that doesn't work on Intellilink at all. GM claims that some older versions won't work. So, I don't know if nano gen 5 is too old for it too work properly in this application or not. Latest software is on ipod. If I knew that for sure I'd get somthing newer at a pawn shop and dedicate it to stayingin the car. I have no problem with the ipod functioning on its own. Thanks for trying. Paul

Got it! Buick tech on chat line suggested deletin all songs and playlists from iPod. Then plug iPod into car's USB port and let it try to index. It will find nothing. and clear the lists. Then from iTunes reload any songs and p[laylists you want and plug the iPod back into the USB port. Intellilink will index the songs and there will be no duplicates. Paul

SOURCE: ipod nano chromatic reads error?

Hi All,

try this out

  1. Disconnect the iPod from the computer and close iTunes.
  2. Highlight all of the following 10 lines of text that begin with regsvr32 and then choose Copy from the Edit menu of your web browser: regsvr32 /s softpub.dll
    regsvr32 /s wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 /s dssenh.dll
    regsvr32 /s rsaenh.dll
    regsvr32 /s gpkcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /s sccbase.dll
    regsvr32 /s slbcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /s mssip32.dll
    regsvr32 /s cryptdlg.dll
    regsvr32 /s initpki.dll

  3. Open the Notepad program by navigating to:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad
  4. In Notepad, choose Paste from the Edit menu. Note: make sure that the text that appears in Notepad is the same as what is shown above.
  5. From the File menu, choose Save As.
  6. In the File name: field type appleipod.bat and save the file to the Desktop.
  7. Close Notepad and locate the appleipod.bat file. It should appear on the Desktop with the icon shown below: ts1539_1.jpg
  8. Double-click the file and you will see a black window appear on the screen for about a minute. Wait until the window automatically disappears and proceed to the next step.
  9. The appleipod.bat file can be deleted at this time.
  10. Open iTunes and connect the iPod.
  11. When the iPod appears in iTunes, restore the iPod and resync your content.

SOURCE: Ipod 4th gen showing music on pc but not on ipod

From the apple website:

"If you are experiencing these errors, begin by updating to the latest version of iTunes. When you have the current version of iTunes, try the following:

  • Disconnect and reconnect your iPod and then attempt to restore.
  • Restart your computer and then attempt to restore your iPod.
  • Disable or Enable Disk Use on your iPod and then attempt to restore.
  • Try connecting your iPod to a different USB port and then attempt to restore.
  • Remove any third-party USB devices you have connected to your computer (it is not necessary to remove your keyboard or mouse).
  • If you use Windows, re-register .dll files as described in article iTunes displays -50 error message when syncing iPod on Windows XP
  • For Windows users, update or reinstall your Windows USB drivers."

If this doesn't fix it, it might be a logic board issue or hard drive issue.

File not found means the songs you are syncing is on a different location in your computer. Try to organize your songs in a folder then drag that folder to iTunes, then sync again..

How can i unlock my ipod nano cause i forgot the password

Hi,
If you can’t remember the current combination, the only way to clear it and enter a new one is to restore the iPod nano software.
You can use iTunes to update or restore iPod software.
If you choose to restore, all data is erased from iPod nano, including songs, videos, files, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All iPod nano settings are restored to their original state.
Thank You

How can I use JVC AVX810 with Iphone? Currently IPOD works fine with the USB cable but IPHONE is not recognised. Maybe there is an adaptor that can solve it?

JVC KS-PD100 iPod Interface Adapter (257KSPD100, sold separately). This optional iPod Interface Adapter supports audio playback for the following iPod models - iPod click-wheel (3rd gen), iPod photo (4th gen), iPod mini (1st/2nd gen), iPod nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPod video (5th gen), and iPod classic (80/120/160GB). The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch (1st/2nd/3rd gen), iPod nano (5th gen), or iPhone (2G/3G/3GS). This iPod interface will also not charge the iPod nano (4th generation). *Apple firmware updates may change functionality results.

How to turn off speaker when using headphones

Just had the same issue with my GF's nano so i phoned apple and got the following solution:

Flick the button/switch on the top of the nano on and off 6 times leaving the orange bit not showing.

Now hold down the menu button and the middle button for 15 seconds until an apple icon appears. SORTED!

now the speaker turns off when you plug the headphones in plus rest assured it doesn't reset the ipod and remove your songs.

My iPod chromatic locks up. It won't respond to buttons, but if I shake it, it still shuffles. I can restart it (center+menu) and that does nothing. Help!

my Ipod 5th gen keeps going back to the song and won't go to menu. it keeos fkipping back to the song and it won't let me go to menu. So it keeps playing the same song over and over and won't go to menu or the next song, It also freezes but I know how to correct that.
