Brother CS6000i - Needle breaking, bobbin thread not picking up

I am having the same problem.. It worked fine last week, then randomly yesterday it broke the needle when I tried to use it. Went through 4 needles before giving up. I also have tried to clean it out, but nothing works. It is not even picking up the bobbin thread at all. Any solutions?

There are a few possible causes, firstly make sure you have the correct needle and it is in the correct way and make sure when you fit the needle it is pusshed all the way up into the needle holder. If the shuttle or hook is moving around the bobbin case then the timing may have been knocked out. If the it is not moving it means either the gear or belt that drives the hoo / shuttle has been damaged or broken.

I have a Brother Disney 270D embroidery machine. It has worked fine until last week. I broke a needle - changed the needle as before. Since then, when I attempt to sew a design, the stiches are skipping...

Sounds to me like you may have knocked the machine out of time when you broke that needle and unfortunately its probably something you will have to take in to have fixed. its shouldn't be hard for a trained technician to figure out. One thing you can check is the new needle, the flat part of the needle should be facing away from you. if you put in in backwards it will skip stitches. as far as the screen saying you need to re-thread the needle im not sure what could be causing that. It might have something to do with the machine being out of time. But i would recommend you find a brother sewing machine dealer in your area and have them take a look at it. I hope this helps.

Try the process of elimination. Take out the needle, take off the needle plate, take out the bobbin case. Run the machine. Does if run full speed? You might have to let the machine run for about 5 minutes. If it runs slow or you hear it slow down, you might have a bad connecting link between the needle bar and the main shaft counter weight. They seize up sometimes. (Shop Repair).

My needle broke and a piece of metal fell out of machine

Totally happened to me last week. I discovered that the metal piece that fell off and holds the needle has a small screw that holds it in place. It needs an Allen wrench (tiny one) to tighten it back into place. I just lucked into figuring it out.
