Question about Marantz M-CR603

1 Answer

Firmware update Hi, I have a problem with updating firmware in Marantz M-CR603. Although power and network cables are connected and working properly the device fails with message: Updating fail: 10 17min 00% System I was trying to reset it by pressing few different combinations of buttons, when powering the device up, but none of them were working. Even the one from the manual (volume up and volume down simultaneously). All the device is doing is entering the firmware update mode which it fails finally. Is there a way to make it alive?

I have contacted Marantz service and they have advised me to do following steps: unplug the power cord, press volume up and stop buttons simultaneously on the device (not on the remote control) and connect back power cord. Then the display should blink few times (although i did't notice it on my device), after that release buttons and your device should reset to the factory settings. If that doesn't work then you will have to send your Marantz to the service.

If you are updating this on the internet it could very easily be you OS is too new or too old for the communication to happen. Contact Marantz or go to their website and look for a patch to make this happen.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Marantz SR5200 receiver works only with remote not manually

Check for a stuck/jammed switch, press each switch if one doesn't make a normal click sound or it doesn't move at all that's your problem.
If that's not it check the owners manual for how to reset the receiver (not all manuals will tell you how to reset it) Another way to reset it is to short the memory cap, but that is better left to a tech.

SOURCE: marantz SR8001fail to standby mode, will not reset

Test all your speaker impedances and check for shorts on both wiring and speakers. Use a digital multimeter. If you still have an issue, disconnect all speakers and test receiver. If you still have a problem, post a comment and I can help some more.

Hello
You must have its repair book, not the user manual, with you to know all about the firmware update and other things. There are so many adjustments should be done after firmware update, and all of them cannot be snd to you by this window, ad they contains illustrations.
If you are interested to get a copy of the repair book, you have to muy one amomg my audio services advertised at Fixya. Send your email address by that window, so that I can upload both the user manual and repair book to you by return mail. Both of the together will come over 35MB. OK.

This sounds like a bad update. Do you have a reset button anywhere? reset to factory defaults? I'd first contact whoever is giving out the updates and let them know the update fails install.
