go google and type in ---potassium and fluid retention---
the first site up states ---it may also benefit heart health (9)
potassium appears to help reduce water retention in two ways, by decreasing sodium levels and increasing u*ine production (10)
bananas , avocados, and tomatoes are examples of foods high in potassium
there are numerous sites that deal with water retention and the affects of potassium
as for your husbands condition, it would be far better to discuss the ongoing swollen knee and ankle and to ask if the potassium would help reduce the condition or would other procedures such as icing the knee when it is hot help reduce the swelling
I mention this because following a knee replacement, there is a lot of swelling in the knee and the specialist demanded an ice pack be used to reduce the heat ( the area around the knee gets hot during the healing process) and reduce the swelling
with the human body anything is possible
If the specialist who fitted the unit will not listen to your concerns , then get a second or third opinion
you can be allergic to the metal used or maybe the installation is not satisfactory
remember that after an operation and cutting of the skin and flesh produces localized heating as it heals
try an ice pack on the wound when it feels hot
following my wife's knee replacement one of the treatments is to cool the knee (which gets very hot) with a cryogenic pack--an ice pack that has cold water in it that is placed on the knee
the heals quicker with it's use than if let as normal with less pain
maybe you have the same result but still talk and get a second opinion
if you use your laptop on your knee or cushion you will over heat it causing it to freeze. you need to keep the vents clear ( on bottom and on sides ) check these for dust or blockage. if these are clear use the laptop on a hard surface. if it still gets hot and freezes when it has plenty of air circulating then you will need an expert to reflow the processor or graphics card ( when a laptop gets to hot too often then it melts the solder that holds the chips on the board, they have to be remelted and put back in place )
This sounds like an overheating issue, with the temperature sensor shutting it off when it gets too hot for safety reasons. Assuming this did not start until after you replaced the lamp, my initial guess would be that either the wrong lamp was used, and it's generating more heat than the unit feels comfortable with, or, the temperature sensor itself is going bad.
A hot laptop underneath is normal as long as the laptop is not turning itself off. Also a hot AC Adapter is normal. Some barnds of laptops and chargers (AC Adapters) get hot but if the laptop is functioning don't worry about it.
You can buy a Laptop Cooling Fan which plugs into the USB Port. The laptop sits on top of it and it has fans which help keep the bottom cool. You can get one for less than $20 at:
http://www.tigerdirect.com
When the site comes up just put in the white search box at the top of the web page: Laptop Cooling Fan and press GO. When the results are returned you can filter them by Price Low to High.
The link below shows one that I've used to diagnose if a laptop is over heating. The laptop was constantly cutting off unless I would sit it on the cooling fan.
COULD BE BECAUSE OF THE HOT SUMMER THE PROCESSOR
GETS TOO VERY HEATED UP. SO EITHER USE A COOLING PAD UNDERNEATH THE LAPTOP OR
KEEP IT SLANTING FOR MORE AIR TO CIRCULATE.
this is the problem it needs reflowing. will not boot with this not connecting properly, and leaving this laptop on for long times like this it will shut down as you are cooking the board. and that will damage the board and other parts. might just be a better idea to change the board, if using windows 10 you need to install the original windows with the same windows key that your windows 10 was upgraded with or you will need to buy a new windows key.
If the heat sink air vents are on the underneath of the laptop, they must be kept clear at all times when the laptop is in use. Try using the machine on a hard tray, table or some other type of surface that keeps the vents clear. Sometimes, if you want to use the laptop on your knee, judicious positioning of it to keep the vents clear will sort the problem. If the laptop overheats when used in this manner, switch the laptop off, and try a vacuum cleaner with attachment to clear the debris from the heat sink via the vent holes. DON'T leave the vacuum nozzle on the vent too long, or get it too near the vents otherwise you may damage the fan bearings. Just be careful, and this can often solve the problem. If it's easy to dismantle the underneath to get at the vents this is preferable, but travelmates are notoriously awkward to do this to. Hope this helps. Kind regards
is this bike air or liquid cooled if air cooled this is normal on a bike to get hotter in stop and go but if liquid cooled then your water pump is bad and not circulating fluid enough through engine head to keep engine cool.
