Question about Bowflex TreadClimber TC5

1 Answer

Walking Belt Fraying

Just received my new treadclimber tc5 I got everything assembled, the problem that I have now is the outside edges of both walking belts particularly the right walking belt are already starting to fray. the rear end of the walking belts slide way out to the outside of the treadles and are digging in to the rear walking guides to the point there is a groove in the plastic. I have followed all of the walking belt adjustment procedures but have not been successful. Does anyone have any suggestions? anything would be appreciated? Again this is the TC5 model, it DOES NOT HAVE A MOTOR.

The bow flex tc5 is an overpriced piece of equipment. The build quality is not great. There are ongoing documented problems with the belts fraying on this model. You can always order a new belt or adjust the side (loosening or tightening) your primary foot stepping side, but I would call bow flex and demand a new belt or replacement. You can mention there is a "risk of fall" due to poor workmanship. This will get their attention and you may even get a new treadmill or at least free belt. Call Bow flex customer service at 1-800-436-6549.

SOURCE: Walk tread keps silding against maching and fraying belt

You should be able to adjust it on the end of the belt with some screws...tighten or loosen them...or one tighten and one loosen, Play with that and it should help you out.

96 Ram V6, changed the power steering pump and now can't get the belt to line up, fraying on the outside edg.

Hopefully, you did not install the pulley on the pump upside-down. (I have seen this happen before) Otherwise, the end of the pump shaft should be flush with the flange on the pulley. If it is off just a little one way or the other, it can cause fraying and severe belt noise.

We canNOT get the belt on the new treadclimber - there's no give and it's just not going

Can you describe your machine type (TC5000, for example) and what you've done to try and reposition the belt? Also which belt are you referring to? The treadle belt or the motor belt? I just went through a complete deck/walking belt replacement, and it's not for the faint of heart. Needed to dismantle almost 85% of the machine.
