Question about Ariston Technologies Washing Machines
Hi, I have an Ariston washing machine AVD 129 SK and I would like to replace the door seal (gasket). However, I have encountered problems while trying to remove the front of the machine (in order to get to the inner retaining wire). My question is whether it's actually possible to remove the front on this particular model? I've managed to take off the door lock (interlock), but the front still won't come off. Can anybody tell me 1) if it's possible to remove the front and - if so - 2)how to proceed? Thanks
Take the top off, remove the soap bucket, take the screws off on the pc board/front cover. the top screws of the front pannel are usualy behind the display cover. the botom screws are behind the bottom plastic cover which you have to prey off with a screwdriver from the top side.

SOURCE: Door won't open
My Zanussi has an outlet filter that is accessible by a little door at the front. It gets clogged if not cleaned for a month or two. Then the machine can't drain and the door won't open. Removing and cleaning the filter should correct the problem. You'll need some sort of container to catch the water that will pour out after you remove the filter.

It is held on by a spring that stretches around the outside of the seal. The seal simply hooks on to a small lip so all you need to do is start in one spot and push it down and away. Then just work it around like removing a bike tire until it is fully removed. Be careful of the spring. It is hooked together so it may unhook once some of the tension is removed and snap around.

Frigidaire has several mfr defects with their new front loading machines. The detergent/bleach drawer retains water, the door often leaks, water does accumulate in the door seal and the spin has broken twice on us and the machin is only 15 months old! Repair is contracted out by Lowes to independant repair companies, who demand payment, even when Lowes says it is covered under warrantee. What a waste of a large amount of money! We will NEVER purchase Frigidaire or recommend their products to anyone.

it is very hard to get the ring on front load washers,
it is much easier to remove the top. bottom and the front control panel
then the door and support panel.
now you have access.
some times you have to remove the counter weight in some models before putting on the ring.
if you can do it without removing these items you are very very good.

This is a two person job. The spring part of the metal ring goes at the 6:00 position (note the groove on the metal part of the machine). Fit the ring into the gasket as much as you can on the hinge side. While one person uses pliers to stretch the spring, another person uses a flat head screwdriver to move the ring into the gasket groove. The trick is to stretch the spring as straight and close to the machine as you can or else the ring pops off and the gasket has to be reset.
