2005 ford escape wiper and washer has no power. cant hear it engage when on but was working a week ago. how can i troubleshoot it and find the fuse

Hi Justin , Do you know what a SJB - smart junction box is and where it is located on you escape ?
Windshield Wiper Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) supplies power to the multifunction switch from the SJB fuse 25 (20A) when the ignition switch is in the ON or ACC position. The multifunction switch supplies power to the windshield wiper motor for the HIGH or LOW/INTERMITTENT input, depending on the multifunction switch position selected. The SJB also supplies power directly to the windshield wiper motor from fuse 25 (20A) when the ignition switch is in the ON or ACC position for RUN/PARK operation. When the multifunction switch is in the LOW, HIGH, or INTERMITTENT position, power is supplied to the windshield wiper motor, which moves the wipers off the park position. Once the wipers are off the park position, an internal switch in the windshield wiper motor switches to the run/park position which directs power to the wiper switch then back to the wiper motor. This maintains power to the windshield wiper motor to complete the wipe cycle. When the cycle is complete, the internal switch in the windshield wiper motor switches back to the park position. If the multifunction switch is in the LOW or HIGH position, power is supplied from the multifunction switch and another wipe cycle starts. If the multifunction switch is in the INTERMITTENT position, the windshield wipers remain parked until the internal relay in the multifunction switch supplies power to the windshield wiper motor. The internal relay supplies power after a time delay that is determined by the 1 of 9 intermittent switch settings.

The park position is controlled inside the motor/actuator assembly. Not sure if it can be repaired. See if it is assembled with screws versus rivets. A new assembly is less than $100.

Windshield shutters while in delayed mode, it

Excessive grease in wiper motor. Motor needs to be removed and the grease cleaned out. Regrease only the areas needing to be greased.

There is also a recall for this vehicle for the wiper module. Call the dealer with your vin # to see if it has been done. I will post the instructions for motor removal and install.

1. Turn the key to the OFF position.
2. Open the hood.
3. Remove the three push-in retainers that attach the air inlet grille (leaf screen) to the plenum sheet metal.
4 . Lower the hood to the secondary latch.
5. Using a suitable marker or masking tape, mark the location on both wiper blades on the windshield.
6. Remove the covers from the nuts that attach the wiper arms.
7. Remove the nuts from the wiper arms.
Important
If the rocking action in the next step fails to loosen the wiper arm, it may be necessary to use a standard top-post battery cable terminal puller to remove the wiper arm.
8. Rock the wiper arms back and forth to loosen and remove them from the wiper transmission shaft.
9. Remove the antenna mast.
10. Remove the 10 mm hex head nut that attaches the left and right ends of the air inlet grille to the plenum sheet metal.
11. Remove the air inlet grille and reposition it up to the windshield. It is not necessary to disconnect the washer hose.
12. Remove the two 10 mm hex head bolts that attach the wiper module to the plenum sheet metal.
13. Disconnect the electrical connector.
14. Position the new wiper module to the vehicle and connect the electrical connector.
15. Install the wiper module in the plenum sheet metal.
16. Install the two 10 mm hex head bolts that attach the module to the plenum sheet metal. Tighten nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
17.Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, turn the wiper switch ON, and visually verify that the wiper transmissions operate. After visually verifying operation, turn the wiper switch to the OFF position and allow the wiper transmissions to stop moving before turning the ignition switch to the OFF position. The wiper motor will now be in the PARK position.
18. Using the marks or masking tape that were placed on the windshield, align and position the wiper arms on the wiper transmission shafts.
19. Install the nuts on the wiper transmission shafts. Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
20. Install the covers on the wiper arm nuts.
21. Remove the marks or masking tape from the windshield.
22. Open the hood.
23. Install the three push-in retainers that attach the air inlet grille to the plenum sheet metal.
24. Close the hood.
25. Verify that all functions of the wiper system (low, high, delay, etc.) operate properly.

My hyundai 2003 santa fe` wiper on both side doesn`t go down completely after that saturday the 19th blizzard. its stop about 30 degree.

Hi

Check to make sure the wiper arm nuts didn't come loose. If they did, you will have to take them off and reposition them. Before you do that, make sure the wiper switch is turned off , so that the wiper motor is in the park position.

I cant figure out how to change my windshield wiper blades on 2001 ford ranger

How to Replace Wiper Blades Guide (Typical):
Potential tools needed to replace wiper blades:
  • Flat blade screwdriver (small)
  • Small nosed pliers
  • Latex or vinyl gloves
  • Safety goggles
To replace wiper blades theactual action of replacing the blade is no big deal, it's the locationof the blade down below the hood that can make it difficult though.Sometimes it helps to open the hood to gain access to the wiper blades.Other times it is helpful if the wiper blade is somewhere in the motionline of wiper action. The trick is to get the wiper to stop somewherein the wiper arc. Turn the wipers to the on position and allow thewipers to start, and then shut the key off when the wiper has arrivedin a desirable position on the windshield. To replace your wiper bladesplease follow the step by step instruction below. Also, watch the How to replace wiper blades video below to gain additional information. The method in which the wiper blades are attached will vary slightly.
  • Step 1: With the hood closed, turn the wiperson, when the wipers are in the middle of their arc turn the key to theoff position. (Note: if this can't be done because of wiper conditionand you want to avoid scratching the windshield please open your hoodto gain access)
  • Step 2: Locate the mounting clips at the top pivot on the wiper blade
  • Step 3: Release the clip and remove the wiper arm
  • Step 4: Match the size of the old blade against the new blade to ensure proper fit and operation
  • Step 5: Reinstall the new wiper blade and recheck wiper operation

Common Problems:
  • Make sure the wiper blades are the same size as the original blades.
  • When replacing wiper blades not getting the blade onthe mounting pin completely allowing the wiper arm to become dislodgedand possibly causing damage to the windshield.
  • Using wiper blades after the blade has failed permanently damaging the windshield by craving scratches in the wiper arc.
  • Wiper blade can create a chattering noise when theblade is not properly balanced allowing the blade to "flop" back andforth as the wiper direction changes.

I hope help you with this (remember rated this help) Good luck.

Wiper blades will not home.

The home position is a function of the wiper motor. You need a new one.
