This usually happens when your Defrost (heater) is not working, Firstly Get your Defrost Timer Checked. If that is the problem then the timer is much easier to be replaced. Depending on the models the Timer prices differ from $10 to $115.
If this is not the issue then Inside the freezer is the Defrost Heater Placed, and you will figure out that this unit is having the problem due to which the channels to pass the Cool air into the Fridge is blocked and not keeping it cool. You will have to check if this Heater can be fixed or replaced. *Again this cost will Differ based on the models*

SOURCE: cold freezer warm fridge.

That sound was the evaporator fan motor in the freezer. This circulates the cold air from the freezer into the fresh food section. If this is not running you need to check for power to it. If the fan has power to it but not running, replace it. It should be located behind freezers back wall inside of freezer near top.

SOURCE: Refrigerator warm, freezer too cold

I had this same problem. You need to totally empty the fridge and freezer and allow it to defrost for 24 hours. Then put it back on and it will work. This happens if someone leaves the freezer door open and then it gets closed. The defrosted water freezes in the pipes and doesn't allow the cold air to move up into the fridge so the freezer gets even colder. This has happened to me twice!

Westinghouse freestyle fridge &freezer work but warm after being turned off fo 90 days

What happens in that 72 hours is the evaporator coil get's so much frost built up on it that the fan in the evap. freezer fan has no where to circulate the cold air (where the cold is produced). Basically you have a restriction between freez/fridg. sections you have defrost problem> It is one of three things d heater,d t stat, or your d timer.I need the model # to tell you what my sugestions would be and where to start.

FRIGIDAIRE FRS6HR4HW2 FRIDGE IS SOMEWHAT COOL BUT FREEZER IS SAME TEMP AS FRIDGE I HAVE POWER TO THE EVAP FAN BUT FAN IS NOT WORKING COULD THIS CAUSE THE FREEZER NOT TO GET COLD ENOUGH TO FREEZE

Yes, if your evap is fully frosted, and the fan is not working. The frosted evap will keep it cold but since the fan cant move the cold air from the evap it'll be cold, but not as cold as you'd like.

Only half of the freezer and half of the fridge are working

heat rises and cold stays down on the lower shelves,if the evap fan motor isn't blowing this will happen, next time send the brand name and model number off of the machine, open the freezer door,if you don't hear the fan blowing you have a bad evap fan motor, all it does is the freezer gets cold, the fan blows the cold air from the freezer to the fridge section, also if the fan isn't working when you remove the back inside wall of the freezer if there's any ice melt it out with a hair dryer, unplug the machine before you start working on it,call your parts store, give them the model number and they will sell you the parts you need.

Refrigerator not cooling. doesn't seem like fan is blowing. freezer still working

all that happens is the cold air from the freezer gets blown into the fridge section by the evap fan motor brhind the inside back wall of the freezer so if you open the freezer door and don't hear the fan blowing i would say that yes you do have a bad evap fan motor and that's why the fridge section is warm.next time send the brand name and model number so i can help you better

Fridge is warm, was collecting water inside. Freezer is working fine. Increased temp but not responding. It is a bottom freezer model

send the model number off of the fridge,if the freezer is working fine then no air is being blown up to the fridge section, all it does is blow cold air from the freezer to the fridge section so either the door was left open and this is very common with a bottom mount freezer or the evap fan isn't blowing or on some models there's a damper inside the fridge section, the damper door opens and closes to let cold air in,when it reaches temp. the door closes, sometimes the door gets stuck in the closed position or the open position and the fridge freezes or gets warm depending on where the door is.first thing open the freezer door,do you hear the fan blowing,if not you could have a bad evap. fan motor, next look at the ceiling and on the packages,do you see frozen water droplets,if so the door was left open and the air ducts are froze up from the warm air getting in from the door being open and mixing with the cold air freezes up the air ducts, also stick your hand onto the back inside wall of the freezer,if there's like snow or frost on the inside back wall of the freezer you could have a defrost problem, bad defrost thermostat, heater, timer or board depending on the model or last a bad damper, when you open the fridge door there are air ducts usually up top and in the middle you should feel cold air blowing in,this is your problem the air isn't making it into the fridge section.if the door was left open, unplug the fridge, remove the food from the freezer and with a hair dryer heat up the back inside wall of the freezer and blow the hot air into the air vent holes in the back wall to melt out the air ducts, keep heating it up until you don't see any more water dripping, you can see the water dripping through the vent holes.so let me know what you find, send the model number and we can go from there.look up near the ceiling in the fridge section on the right hand wall and you should see a tag with the model and serial numbers, send the full model number so i can see what you have in your machine.

Kenmore fridge bottom freezer. Freezer is cold but fridge is warm

Sounds like the start of a defrost problem, open your freezer and see if the back wall has any frost on it. if so your evap coil is in-packed with ice and it won't be long till you start to lose cooling in the freezer also. If you don't have ice on the back wall check the evap fan motor to hear if it's running ( you should hear it when u open the freezer door or feel the air movement.) note: if the evap fan motor is not running that may also cause frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If the fan is not running remove the back wall and check the fan wires for 120 volts ac.if you have power replace the motor. Also with the back wall removed you can check the defrost t-stat and defrost element you should read a closed circuit on the heater and with the evap coil frozen you will also read a closed circuit on the t-stat to. If the defrost element or t-stat check bad replace that part, if they check good replace the defrost timer. you can hit the coil with a hair dryer to thaw it out till you get the part you need, that will buy you about 3 days. Good luck hope this helps you

behind the back panel that you pulled off is where the compressor is. on the left side of the compressor is where the relay/overload is plugged in. its gone bad. if you touch the compressor it will either be really really hot or room temp. unplug it let the compressor cool and replace the relay/overload to fix your problem
