  • Next remove the 2 rubber stoppers & screws above the main screen (circled below)
lg3.jpg
  • Prise the back part away from the rest of the phone by running your fingernail between where the two parts meet (as shown below)
lg4.jpg
  • Your phone should now look like the picture below. Unclip the ribbon (circled below)
lg5.gif
  • After removing the ribbon cable (above), carefully lift the metal part indicated by the arrow above. Another ribbon will be attached which should be carefully removed. Take the circuit board & keypad out and you'll be left with what's below. Next remove the top part of the phone by pushing the housing in whilst pulling the hinge, which the top part is attached via, away from the phone. This is the hardest part and you'll need to bend and manipulate the housing the get the hinge out. Be firm but be careful so you don't snap the housing.

  • Your phone will now be in two parts. To open the top half of the phone and get to the screen, run your fingernail fingernail between where the two parts of the housing meet (as shown below)
lg7.jpg
  • Your phone should now be as pictured below. The circled areas indicate where you'll need to remove the speaker and ringer in order to solder them to the new screen. The screen can be lifted away from the phone easily at this point.

  • Remove the LCD and replace with new. Reverse the procedure for disassembly and it's finished.
Take care and good luck

Take note, the pictures are that of lg u8120, it has the same disassemble process as lg u8180

I have replaced my Toshiba 205 laptop's keyboard a few months ago and all was fine. Now some keys don't work while others work if you push for a few seconds. I reconnected the ribbon last night and...

There is not so much that could be done to repair a keyboard. Disassemble the laptop, check the ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard. If the ribbon cable is loose, tighten it. If it is tight, replace the keyboard with a new one

My nokia N76 has only 2 hrs of battery time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wats da problem???????????

Hello Sir/Madam,
I think you buy a new battery. And charge only for 2 to 3 hours until complete. Then remember charge only when your battery is nearly to finish or left half battery.
Thanks. Good luck

I have lost all icons on desktop, cd rom not

Sounds like your hard drive failed. Memory is cheap, so it's not an expensive fix and easy to do yourself with minimal skills. Once you open the case, there should be 4 screws holding the HDD in place, one fat ribbon type cable and one connector with 3 or 4 wires (power). You can just pop a new HDD in and reconnect and use your software disks to reload the operating system. Most computer repair shops can get the data off of your old drive and load it onto your new one.
By the way, you wouldn't happen to be a Limewire user would you? There seems to be a new trend connecting HDD failure and Limewire use. This is not yet proven but being investigated. It is likely not Limewire, but malware attached to downloaded media.

How do I change the LCD screen please?

Very easy.
Remove the batery. Remove the case screws and pull the case apart. Where the flat ribbon cables connect to the main board, carefully release the clamps on the board end plugs. The plugs don't come off, the ribbon just comes out of them. Carefully remove the screen. It has double stick foam in a few spots. Put the new screen in, reconnect the ribbon cables and put the case back together. 30 minutes max.

The first issue is how you are connected. If it is IDE or SATA. Next is to ensure that the bios settings are set to enable the corresponding connection. Next ensure you have the cords or ribbons seated properly in the drive as well as the board, ensuring the power connection is secure. Good Luck!
