Invalid disc I have a kawasake dual screen portable dvd player. It was working great until just recently. Now when I turn on the dvd player, you can hear the dvd loading (and the screen says "loading") and then it stops. The screen then says "invalid disc". I have tried many different types of dvds (burned and not burned) with the same result. Help!Thank you!!

Re: invalid disc

We had the "No Valid Disk" fault until I pushed the slide all the way to one end. Which ever is opposite. After doing this, install a disk and close the door. The slide will then move to the home switch and play the movie.

Other things to consider: make sure the disk is clean and no really bad scratches. Try other disks. Clean the DVD reader with a lens wipe. Blow the player out with canned air. Some copied movies will not work.

We also used my husbands converter (little black and decker he has for the "office" in his truck) and we had no problems the last time we used ours

Player reading invalid disc and disc is not spinning

My dual screen dvd player was reading invalid disc and disc was not spinning. Took player completely apart and white gears had dirt in them. This was preventing the player from spinning. Used dust remover and cleaned the whole inside and now it works great.

Toshiba Portable DVD will not spin upon start up

If the disc does not spin it will cause the optical reader to not read the disc, which will give you the "no disc" or "invalid disc" error. If a disc will not spin, the most common cause of this is due to a spindle motor malfunction. The good news is that it can be fixed on average of between $70-90 dollars depending on what service repair technicians charge in your local area. You can fix the problem yourself if you have the patience and a bit of knowledge, but I can tell you from first hand experience it is a pain to do this.

The pictures below provide you an idea of what you are looking at.

I hope this helps give you an idea of what the problem is and helps you solve the issue.

If you would not mind, please rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Coby DVD shows Invalid Disc HELP PLEASE

Did you make the disk if you made the disk your computer has to give it a digital signature so the DVD player can read it if you're using a regular DVD then I would very carefully using rubbing alcohol and Q tip clean the actual laser I would be very careful doing this if too much rubbing alcohol is on the Q tip it will ruin the laser you can also try resetting the DVD player by taking out the battery and unplugging it from any power source and leave it that way for at least 20 seconds to a minute if that doesn't work you might have something else wrong

Wharfedale DVD- 265 saying invalid disc

Check and see if there is dust or dirt or something on the lens. Dirt, grease and fingerprints will cause a DVD player to have read errors.
If it a new player, or under warranty, get it replaced. It sounds like it is failing.

Hope that helped.

Portable dvd player problem

Your laser that reads the discs is too dirty or is out of alignment.

Should clean laser every 20 hours of use with any DVD laser cleaner system. If you are technical you can remove parts to get to laser and clean with alcohol and Q-tip
Quick fix can be compressed air when door is open

DVD's also need checked for scratches and dirt as well
