Check for loose memory modules Normally, a computer will not display an image if a memory module is loose. However, in some cases, if a memory module is loose or is not making good contact with the memory slots, the computer may responds but does not recognize all of the memory. Reseating the memory module may resolve memory failure errors. To reseat the memory module, take the memory module out of the memory slot and then put it back into the slot to get a better connection so that the computer can recognize the memory.

Dell 3100 windows wont load after memory upgrade

Re-seat your memory modules and check to make sure you didn't knock any power or ide, sata cables loose or forgot to plug them back in when you were done working on the ram.

Also, make sure your RAM meets these requirements:

Type - 400- and 533-MHz DDR2 unbuffered SDRAM
Memory capacities per slot - 256 MB, 512 MB, or 1 GB non-ECC
Maximum total memory - 2 GB

If it still doesn't work then test each RAM module separately with memtest86+ to find out if one is bad.

Our new lenovo lap top often hangs up suddenly . reasons?

Could be several reasons;

1) Incorrect amount and/or application of thermal paste.
Processor is overheating.

2) Bad Harddrive. Sector that has the Boot Record may be corrupted or damaged.

3) One or more Ram Memory Module/s ('Stick') may be loose, and/or the gold plated contact pins on the bottom of the ram memory module, may have corrosion, and they need to be cleaned. (Even though Gold is not supposed to corrode)

You may check the ram memory module/s to see if they are loose. Best method is to remove it/them, and reseat it/them.

For anything else it falls under Warranty work because the laptop is so new.

(You Do Not want to void the warranty, by going further than checking seating of ram memory module/s. It may be an expensive fix. Let Lenovo fix it, or give you a direct replacement )

E machines el1333-21f goes into memory dump have done restore still happening

If you have more than one memory module remove one and see if it boots, swap the memory and again see if it boots with the other one, if system boots with one install both and check again if it boots, if so, one of the memory modules might have been loose, if it only boots with one, the other module may be defective. You can try starting in Safe Mode then shut down and start up normally. I hope this helped. Good luck and have a fantastic day.

MY Desktop is not getting ON

Hello sir, hi, check out the following: I'm assuming the things that you have not done anything bad that may have worsen the condition.
1. you may have loose or dirty memory modules try cleaning the foil part with an eraser
2. use a good and tested memory module? have this module tested first on another PC. 3. Is your memory slot free of dust and dirt? if not clean it up. 4. is you power supply fan and processor fan spins when power is on? 5. Try powering ONLY the motherboard connected to a video display, no sata/ide cable with a tested memory installed. 6. try another Power Supply box. 7. Is your processor mounted properly? 8. when you apply power look at the keyboard lights, 3 lights initial power on then 1 light the num lock led is on. 9. do you have a plugged in usb device, remove this device as you power on the motherboard. 10. do every thing again and double check.

if all else failed, bad mother board. have this checked by a technician.

When i turn on my computer hp dv2000 i only hear 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps..but theres no display.

Common solutions for issues that cause blinking LEDs or beep tones
Check for loose connections and test the memory
Blink codes are often displayed after a user adds memory to the computer but does not seat the module properly. The LEDs may also blink error codes if a hardware component is loose because the computer was dropped or jarred. Some HP Notebook PCs come with one stick of memory but have two memory slots. The problem could be that the stick of memory or one of the memory slots has a bad connection.
The memory module compartment on most notebooks is located on the bottom of the case. The exact position varies by model. However, on some models, the memory compartment is under the keyboard. See your User Guide for the exact location of memory modules on your notebook.
NOTE: Removing and reseating memory modules requires the use of tools and the partial disassembly of the computer. If you do not feel comfortable doing this work yourself, take the computer to an authorized retailer for technical service.
Check for loose memory modules
If a memory module is loose or is not making good contact with the memory slots, the computer does not recognize all of the memory. Reseating the memory module may resolve memory failure errors. To reseat the memory module, take the memory module out of the memory slot and then put it back into the slot to get a better connection so that the computer can recognize the memory.

Use the following steps to remove and reseat the memory modules:
Step 1 - Remove the electrical power
To remove all power from the computer and prevent accidental damage to the electronic components, do the following:Turn off the computer by pressing and holding down the Power button for about 30 seconds. Unplug the AC adaptor from the notebook.Slide and hold the battery release latch to the unlock position.Use your finger to lift the battery up and out.
Step 2 - Remove the memory module
Remove the memory module cover on the bottom of the notebook.1 - Loosen the compartment's retention screws2 - Lift up and remove the memory compartment coverRemove the memory modules from the memory slots.1 - Pull the retention clips away from sides of the memory module2 - Gently pull the module out of the memory module slotCAUTION: To prevent damage to the memory module, grasp the memory module by the side edges. Do not touch the metal contacts.
Reseat the memory module by holding module at a 45-degree angle, and pressing it firmly into the memory slot until it is seated.1 - Align the notched edge of the module with the tab in the slot.2 - Firmly press the module into the slot. 3 - Pivot top edge of memory module downward until retention clips snap into place. After reseating the memory module, replace the cover over the memory compartment before restarting the computer.1 - Align the cover tabs2 - Tighten the memory compartment cover screws
Step 3 - Replace the electrical power
When troubleshooting problems, use only the AC power to perform the tests. After the problem is resolved, you can turn off the computer and insert the battery into the notebook. Plus the connection from the AC adapter into the notebook, and then connect the AC adapter to a working power supply.Perform any tests to verify the computer can startup and run in the Windows operating system. With the computer turned off, push the battery into the base enclosure until the retention clips click into position.
If the computer can access part of the memory, it may be possible to access the BIOS Setup Utility display and perform a memory self test to identify other memory issues. If the computer cannot boot to the BIOS Utility, try removing and reseating the memory and the hard drive, and then repeat the following steps to perform the memory self test.
1.Plug the AC adapter into the computer.
1.Turn off the computer.
1.Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the f10 key to enter the BIOS Setup menu.
1.In the BIOS Setup Utility, use the Right Arrow or Left Arrow keys to navigate through the menu selection to locate the Diagnostics .
1.Use the Down Arrow or Up Arrow keys to select Memory Test .
1.Press Enter , and then Yes to perform memory test.
1.After test completes, press f10 key to Save and Exit , and then press Enter key to Exit Saving Changes? .
If the test fails, one or more of the memory modules may not be seated properly. Check for and reseat loose memory modules.
What to do when the computer starts into Windows normally
After you have completed the troubleshooting process and your computer has booted normally into the Windows operating system, you should:Run HP Assistant to update HP software and drivers. Run Windows Update to update operating system and software.Run anti-virus program to remove any virus.

It's either the memory on the 2nd slot is faulty or loose, try to reseat the memory and check if you will get the same error message if it does then try to remove the said memory on your laptop and check if the error will message will disappear then you can already tell that the memory card on bay 2 or slot b needs replacement.
