If all you get is a "whirring" sound when you try to run the machine, the belt most likely has slipped off the pully. You need take off the rear cover to get at the belt. Get a service manual that shows the bottom and rear Torx screws that have to be removed if you plan on fixing it yourself. If the hand wheel won't turn manually (or is difficult to turn), take it to a professional.
