To use an American Dyson in Australia you need a step up to 240v from the American 120v. Better to but a European machine that is the right voltage already.

Usally that information is usually printed on the charger itself. The writing is small on the piece that plugs in the wall. Have you looked there?

Can I use a blender that I got from America here in South Africa it has a different plug and will the wattage be the same

Sheila You most likely will destroy the blender.

The voltage of the blender most likely will be designed for 120v AC and the South Africa power point will be 230v AC . (if internet information on SA is correct )
Check for a label on the blender that tells you what the input voltage AC is. most likely it will show 120V 60HZ
then you need a step down transformer.
Google search 240v AC to 115V AC step down transformer

GE microwave fuse model jes532wn rating 15v but what voltage rating: 120v or 240v ?.thanks

fuses do not have voltage ratings they are a current device. the 15 V does not make sense. It might be 15 A which is the current rating. A standing for Ampere which is the maximum current named after the discoverer of current creating magnetic fields being Andr?-Marie Amp?re in 1826. The 120v or 240v relates to the transformer design in the microwave. The transformer would be design to run on 240V AC 50 HZ AC like in Oz and UK or 120V 60 Hhz AC like used in the USA out of the power point from the power company.
Also the current relates to the voltage. So voltage divided by circuit resistance equals current.denoted by the formula I = V/R

How to change the voltage for Yamaja YSP4000 from 120 V to 220 v

The US and Canadian models are fixed voltage - 120V 60Hz. There isn't a model sold anywhere in the world that is multi voltage. The European model is 220~240V 50/60Hz

If you want to take this product abroad with you, then you will need to buy a Step Down Transformer. This will take 220~240V and convert it to 120.

The power consumption of the YSP4000 is 55W. You should over specify the Step Down Transformer by at least 20% to ensure there's enough current when the speaker needs it. 70W minimum should cover it.

Power pushing reset

Hi Paula, it's Jack at Dyson.

Like most Dyson vacuums, DC39 is engineered to shut itself down for protection if it starts to overheat. This will usually be due to a blockage, and the filter may also need a wash.

You should find the machine will reset itself after it's had at least three hours to cool down. But to prevent any damage to your vacuum, please give the filter a wash, and check for any blockages.

To check for any blockages in the floor tool, wand, hose or hose inlet, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

DC39's filter should be washed once every three months in normal use, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow up to 24 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it.

I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further advice after you've given this a try please call our experts directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Hi Linda,

I am sorry to hear you are having difficulty with your DC39 brush bar. The brush bar on your machine is air driven. Generally, if the brush bar stops rotating it is due to an obstruction that is preventing air flow. Please visit the appropriate link below for step by step instructions on locating and removing a blockage from your machine.

We also recommend inspecting the brush bar to ensure it is free of any debris and washing your filters. If for any reason the recommended trouble shooting does not fully resolve the problem please contact our Helpline to speak with an expert.

Best wishes,

Hullo guys, i recently purchased a shaving machine with a power adapter that can operate at a voltage of 120V Ac and frequency of 60 Hz. Now unfortunately here in Kampala, Uganda our Op. Voltages and...

You need a step down AC transformer 240V to 120V then you can connect the shaver to the 120V outlet. You do not need to worry about the frequency.

You could take it to a Dyson repairer and get a quote.
I suspct it would not worth repairing and converting to 240 volts. Most likely the motor needs replacing and possible other electrical components.

Recently moved to Australia. Is there anyway I can get my much loved 120V Kitchen Aid food processor rewired for Australian 240V power. Model No: RKFP740 GC Step down transformers are expensive and ugly...

Without step-down transformers you are out of luck. I am sorry. I know the transformers are ugly but they are cheaper than replacing your food processor and espresso machine. One thing you could do is to contact Kitchen Aid and ask them if the motor can be wired for 240V. If not, ask them if you can purchase the 240V motor for your processor and replace it directly. As for the espresso machine, no idea...sorry.

We live in Australia and have won a Peg Perego 6v John Deere Utility Tractor, but on assembly we realise the plug will not plug into our power source. What can I purchase to be able to charge the little...

Presumably, the John Deere is manufactured in or for the USA. If so the plug for the power adapter is for USA. To confirm this check for 2 straight vertical pins adjacent to each other at the top of the plug. The plug may or may not also have a circular round (or half round) pin centralised underneath the two vertical pins. Also confirm that the power adapter has printed on it something similar to 100 -- 120V (volts) to 6V. In this case, you will need a plug-in transformer to operate the power pack. The voltage required is: 240V input to 115V output. You should be able to purchase an enclosed unit with the appropriate plug (for AUS) and socket (for US) from Tandy, **** Smith or a similar retailer or an electrical wholesaler. The other specification you will need when purchasing an enclosed transformer is the power rating in Watts or VA. Look for this information on the power pack and buy a transformer that is rated above this rating. If the power rating is not stated on the power pack look for a current rating in amps (A) or milliamps (mA -- 1 mA = 0.001A) associated with the US voltage (100 -- 120V). Multiply the current x the voltage to obtain a VA or Watts rating. Buy a transformer which is rated above this power rating.
