I'm printing in high quality on glossy II paper and the printing is fine but it looks like the photo is made of dots. if you look closely you can see dots. thanks!

Haha Sorry to laugh but all printing is done in dots... my guess is the print quality is turned way down like maybe 300dpi x 300dpi o btw dpi is dots per inch so basically just need to checkout the printer properties and turn up the quality or dpi

Dots on prints

It depends on what kind of dots you have, but mostly are caused by toner dripping.

Check what color dots are, and change that toner cartridge.

Another posibility are: Bad fuser or bad transfer belt.....If dots are easily removed by your hand, is the fuser. If dots are colorless, could by the transfer them

How do Print a scanned image

This is a complicated issue. You have to understand the computer term DPI, which stands for Dots Per Inch. This applies in three places:
  1. when you scan, you can set this
  2. when you display it on your monitor, your monitor will be usually 72 DPI or 100DPI depending on what resolution your video driver is set to
  3. when you print, it depends what resolution your printer can print at. Your printer can also stretch the image onto the paper by duplicating dots as needed.

Dots = Pixels
In PixWizard, we show you the image size in Dots.

Let's assume you scan at 300 DPI. You scan an 8x10 picture. This is saved as 2400 dots (8" x 300 dots/inch) by 3000 dots (10" x 300). Let's assume your printer is 600DPI. In dots, this is 4800 (8" x 600) by 6000 (10" x 600). For best results, you should scan at 600DPI and set the print options to use a 1:1 scale when printing. Our programs can also stretch the image to fit the entire printable area of your printer.

Difference between dot matrix printer and laser printer

1. Dot matrix as the name suggests prints in small dots. The print out u get in railway tickets. 2. Laser printers are very speedy and have clear and sharp printing. There is no comparison b/w a laser printer and dot matrix. If dot matrix is 1st GEnaration than laser is atleast 10 generations ahead

TallyT2240 Dot Matrix only prints the middle part of the caracters

It sounds like you have one of two problems;

1) The ribbon cartrige it warn out or damaged, leading to no ink in a particular area.

More likely

2) The print head is damaged or warn out or is not connected correctly to the pritner. The print head may need to be reseated or if this does not fix the problem the print head may need to be replaced.

Epson 9800 Prints black dotted vertical line

This is a workaround - I too need a definitive answer. Symptom: black dotted vertical line 1/2 to 3/4" from leftmost image edge. I have begun adding single vertical line to my prints .25" from the left edge of the paper to force the "dots" off my print - this seems to have the desired affect, but it does not answer the cause or provide a true remedy (it will save many of your prints while we wait for complete solution). dkh

RED DOT

Hi,

If the dot is not visible in print, but only on the camera's screen, the its only the LCD that is faulty.

If the dot is visible on screens and in print, then yes, it could be the sensor. Try taking pictures without the digital zoom. Chances are the dot is only visible with the digital zoom because the picture is interpolated.

If all else fails, you can try cloning out the spot in an image editor on the computer.
