I have a Casio fx 82 MS and when i do calculations like 5/55 its giving me an answer of zero

Reset your calculator. If you choose an Exponential display format (Scientific, Engineering, Normal1, Normal2) select more decimal digits. Your current setting seems to display no decimal digits.

I am using a casio calculator model fx-991MS and it keeps giving me wrong answers like if i say 5/10 i get 500 and the letter M at the top of my answer. i have an exam tomorrow please help

This is valid for the Casio FX-991W but I suspect it works for the FX-991 MS.
The Engineering Mode is ON so that all results use the Engineering display. When you divide 5 by 10 the result in engineering notation is 500 x10^-3 or 500 milli some unit, hence the little m after the 500. Other symbols you might have are k for kilo, or M for Millions, G for billions, mu for microns, etc.
In Engineering notation, the exponents are always (positive or negative) multiples of 3.
o recover the normal display, you must turn off the Engineering Mode.
Press the MODE button repeatedly until you reach the EngON EngOFF page. Select 2:EngOFF.

Change Mode to Norm 2 in case of Casio fx 82/83/85/270/300/350 MS or Choose fix.

Inverse Functions on Casio fx-270W PLUS don't seem to work

because cotangent, cosecant, and secant are all inverse trig functions, just type in 1 / |shift| trig function and the number if you are finding the angles. It might not be a dedicated button, but its an extra push, and it will give you the same result. *note that I put the shift press only because that is how you get the inverse tan to get an angle from a tan ratio.*
