My hp pavilion mx70 is running so slow

What should I do? I now have the HugesNet Internet system and I hate it! What can I do to make my computer run fast? Is there a virus or something on my computer?

The issue can be caused by many many reasons such as outdated hardware, overload startup programs, corrupt registry issues, too many junks, virus attack, poor security software taking too much system resources, remnants of uninstalled applications etc. The fact is, you should keep some system maintenance job regularly. If you don't want to do these manually, try the solution: http://www.speeduphp.com/fix-slow-hp.html

Meanwhile, upgrading hardware configuration (add RAM, change a new video card, larger-volume HDD etc) can be a fast yet effective way to improve your pc performance. But that won't be the most economical way, as you know you can't always afford to do that.

You could have a virus, spyware or a registry problem. You should scan for all three. More info on registry repair and speeding up a slow computer can be found here

There are a number of reasons that may causing your HP computer running slow to shut down or start up, but generally two factors: outdated hardware or poor system maintenance. For hardware part: you can get more RAM, higher CPU etc. For system part: there might be a lot of junk files, caches, errors etc out there, about 80% slow HP issues are caused by this reason, in this case you can rely on http://www.speeduphp.com/ to free detect and fix related issues. I have an hp pavilion a720n desktop with an hp pavilion mx70 monitor and windows xp home. There is a problem with the color displayed on the monitor. I see mainly black and white, but blue shows up fine....

First of all you can check the computer by connecting another monitor to it to see if the problem goes away...if so then the problem would be in the monitor. If not , then I would try to change the video grafics card in the computer(assuming you don't have built in video). If you have built in video on the mother board then you will either need to replace the motherboard or disable the onboard video and install a video card

My color monitor (hp pavilion mx70) is having graphics problems

Need to download correct graphics drivers and then you will be able to change the options. If you already have up to date drivers then you need to Right Click on desktop and select properties and then click on the Settings Tab and change it from 16 color to Highest (32 bit). Oh, go to manufacturers web site to download drivers.

Monitor won't come on right away

Sounds like the CRT is starting to go bad cause its taking longer and longer for it to boot up. CRT's aren't available now so a new monitor would be the only option.

If the monitor is working correctly, there is no problem. Not all 15 pins are used, therefore there is usually two missing.

McAfee not installing

What you need to do is buy additional memory and install it.
Whats happening is that the memory installed is not enough to run all the applications on your computer. In order, to properly run any more applications (programs) its the only thing you can do or remove the programs you don't need.
Hope this helps. Bud

I want to know if my monitor is Vista compatable

Yes, the monitor is Vista compatible. A monitor is just a display device, simply showing you what's coming from the computer's video card. That video circuitry is what would need to be compatible with Vista.

If you are upgrading an older computer by installing Vista, you might need to be concerned about video hardware compatibility. If you are upgrading by simply replacing the computer with a new one, it will already be Vista ready. In either case, the monitor will be fine.

Please take a moment to rate this solution if you've found it what you need, and thanks for asking here!
