I have a dell dib75r pinevalley mainboard I need to know whats the max power supply i can apply to this motherboard pls. for graphics card

The stock 305W power supply guarantees 20 to 25W on the +5VSB rails and 150 to 170W on the 3.3v/5V Rails. Many GTX 750 TI now say (300W PSU that can supply 18 AMPS MIN on the 12v rail aka 216W on the 12v rail.

Many EPS 12v power supplies only guarantee 10 to 15W on the +5VSB and 125 to 130W on the 3.3v Rails.

This means you buy the supply and it may not even turn on. If it does it wont work with the 960 card installed.

Buying a power supply is not a single 12v rail and thats the only thing it uses.

There are many users who should have gotten a corsair RM1000 but instead chose an ATX not EPS 12v power supply at 500 to 750W and they have the Solid Amber Light of *****. EPS12v 2.92 for 750W and up guarantees 150W on the 3.3v rail, 20W on the +5vsb rail and 375W on the 12v Rails minimum.

Hi, all i could find was a service manual:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/SYSTEMS/xpsm1210/en/SM/index.htm

It sometimes help to remove the cmos battery from the
mainboard for 15 minutes.
This will clear the password and reset the bios.

If it is a biostar mainboard you can download a manual and drivers here:

http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdownloads.asp?model=P4TSE-D2

If none of this help you have to contact
the dell support in your country and explain them your problem
they are mostly helpfull vith that.

IT'S AN OVERHEATING PROBLEM COMMON ON CERTAIN DELL MOTHERBOARDS,You can try cleaning out the dust from the heatsink - but by the time you see this error, chances are the mainboard has been damaged and to fix it, you'd need to replace the mainboard. CALL DELL SUPPORT

When dell d810 computer is powered on many colored vertical lines appear on display booting is stopped

If this happens after a few initial screens go by with no issue and then windows starts loading and it hangs then it's a software problem.

If the lines appear right away and you never see any software loading then it's a hardware issue.

It could be an issue with the video card, mainboard, LCD, or the wires that go from the mainboard up to the LCD screen. The odd part is that a video issue shouldn't stop it from booting, so that points more towards a mainboard issue.

Are you sure it's not booting? Maybe just the display is out.
Watch the disk drive light and see if it continues flickering for a few minutes after the video goes, out.

Did you have an trouble with the hinges on this laptop? Just asking because the display wires are tiny and fragile and they travel up to the LCD passing near the hinge area.

If you are brave and reasonably handy and can read a detailed service manual you could try reseating some of the internal connectors but that gets pretty involved and the problem is more likely with the LCD itself or the mainboard.

There is a lot of info about this on the Dell communities that covers many models and some of them mention known problems that Dell fixes for free. See the link below, then call Dell. Be polite but firm and mention the recall because it seems to cover the D810 so they may fix it for free.

How to open the Dell Inspiron 1000 Notebook to replace the AC connector?

The AC connector is part of the mainboard. It is soldered onto the board and not readily replaceable by itself. You must replace the whole mainboard. Dell boards are usually available on ebay for a reasonable price.

The screws to open the laptop are the all the ones on the bottom.

Yellow blinking power button

A customer of mine has several of these that have the same problem. I found a comment on a Dell forum indicating that one of the capacitors on the mainboard will be either swollen or leaking. Replace the capacitor and it should be OK. I do not have the proper equipment for soldering on a mainboard so I have not done this. However, I did a google search on "Dell SX280 mainboard purchase" and I found a guy on ebay selling the repaired boards for $100.
