How can i perform a restore to factory default settings on an optiplex 380 without any cds?

You want to restore the BIOS setting? You don't need any CD's for that. Simply go into the BIOS setup by hitting F2 when you first start the machine; that will take you into the settings screen. If you're trying to reset the OS to factory default, you will need to have the CD's and the key code.

I have a packard bell imedia mc 1538 and need to resore to factory settings, have tried using F10 key with no result just goes to start up. The master cd just does a system restore and not the factory...

If the file that holds the factory settings is gone then there is no way to restore the factory settings back. You can however reinstall windows if you got a hold of a windows disc in the version you want. You can use the windows key on the computer somewhere to activate the windows. I would suggest doing a system restore the the last restore point and removing any unwanted things from there.

I can't get in internet explorer and I can't reboot to factory setting ... I don't have the boot cd

Hi,

To restore the computer to factory settings, you can use the hidden recovery partition in the computer. Please restart and press and hold the F10 key to access the recovery partition. From the recovery tools window, please select "Restore C Drive" to get back the factory installed settings in the computer.

Thanks!!!!

Hi,
You will need the restore cds that came with your laptop. Insert the restore cd in your dvd drive and restart your computer. When the message "Press any key to boot from cd" press enter.
Then follow the on screen instructions to restore your computer.

To restore to origionalfactory settings

Are you getting registration errors or are you getting registry errors . If you are getting registration errors then you can call up the microsoft activation helpline and they would guide you through the registration process. if you are talking about registry errors then its something about the hard drive being faulty. so try to do a format reinstall. If you need more detailed help. write back. Thanks Ashish.
