SOURCE: Screen Resolution problem

Different video cards offer different ways to deal with a user's screen. ATI, and others, for instance, offer a "virtual desktop", which does what you're describing. You get to the settings that control this feature from the Personalize->Display Settings menu options. Here you'll also find the different resolutions your video adapter supports. If the 1600 x 1200 resolution is listed, then I would remove the existing driver for both the adapter and the monitor, and reboot the machine. On startup, Windows will most likely detect the "new" hardware (actually, your existing ones) and will go through the process of finding the appropriate drivers for your adapter. Good luck!

SOURCE: Screen not coming on

Typical problems with Samsung SyncMaster.

I just did this to a friends monitor as well, a different model and not much different in build. I think you might have 3 screws on lower back side of cover. Start your separation from the bottom of the frame.Your power switch will remain on the front frame while the wire will remain with the rest. Read the rest it will help.

HOW TO OPEN A SYNCMASTER2.gif 2053BW

NO SCREWS!!! Assuming that the stand mount has been pulled out..The seam around the screen frame is where you start(different versions might have screws). The frame has the prongs, the back cover has what the prongs slip over. The frame is coming off first! I got the side to open by finger, then used a small standard screwdriver to pry ever so gently(lifting frame from rearcover). Leave the power button assembly on the frame, pull wire only a little to relax any tension..you get about 3/4" in extra taped to panel. The hard part is done.;) Still holding the frame...Now lift the panel (where the power button assembly wiring goes under panel) with the power housing that is under it as a whole and you will see where the powerbuttonassemble detaches.Remove frame. Now..holding edges of panel into back cover, lift and flip the whole thing over and place panel face down on a perfectly flat surface..a towel on my desk works. Lift and remove back cover.Your now looking at the back of the board housing. The ribon is simple, on the panel end of the ribon, squeez the outer clips together and slide it away against the panel..The secondary tin plate is removable(if you need to remove it), two clips super close to where the sets of wires come around the housing and into the panel. Unhook the 4 plugs(blues and pinks)...Now lift the power housing off of the panel. The big board has the power. One screw to remove a ground plate first. Two screws to remove power board. Pics from phone.56ec44b.jpg
aae8fab.jpg The capacitors top-plain should be flat(not rounded) and there should be no color whatsoever coming through the top of the cap lines(google "bad capacitors"). The specs of the cap are on the cap. The 2 caps cost me $4.00. Now keep in mind there are hazards to this.Google them;)

I have a dell laptop that I want to add a second monitor to. My monitor is a HP L1755 and my laptop has Windows 7 Ultimate on it. I can not find a driver for this... any suggestions?

Hi there, if i read you correctly you are trying to connect external monitor on laptop. As you use old Monitor for this you can probably establish only VGA connection . For this you dont need any special drivers if you use VGA external connector on laptop. You just need to find out right combination on keyboard to activate external monitor to be activated or right click on desktop then properties and display option multiple displays. Of course when you manage to activate mode for external screen please use lower resolution like 1027*768 for second display aka monitor to test .Cheers

HP Pavillion with Vista won't display on external monitor.

Re-boot the laptop. Verify that the "POST" operation comes on during the restart - if not then you have a graphics issue in the laptop.

Multiple vertical screens at startup (dell inspiron 4100)

Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop (15 pin VGA connector). If the display appears normal on the external monitor then you have an issue with your laptop's LCD display. If the external monitor also has vertical screens then your video circuit on the laptop has a problem.

How to set up multiple external monitors on a laptop

Since you only have one external monitor port, you need to use a video spillter, this will allow you to connect two or more external monitors.

NOTE: This video splitter will only give you duplicated displays. Please check the link below:

when you connect external monitor to a laptop u get two options in the monitor section of graphic properties tab

1.) extended
2.) clone

it is clear from ur post that u are using extended view

try using clone mode then both laptop screen and external monitor will show the main screen

other method is to disable the laptop screen and just allow external monitor to work, in this case laptop screen shows nothing but external monitor shows main screen

Secondary monitor from a Laptop

If your laptop doesn't automatically detect the external monitor, there will be a function key you need to press to activate the external monitor connector. It's often on the top row of keys, but different manufacturers put their function keys wherever they like. The key will normally have a marking that looks like a little monitor screen. Connect your external monitor, hold down the F or Fn key and press the monitor key when you find it. Usually the first press will turn on the external monitor and turn off the laptop screen, then the second press turns the laptop screen back on. Some brands or models may not turn off the laptop display, though.
