Unplug the unit and leave unplugged for a moment . Then plug it back in this should reset the lock.

Does it do it on hot and cold water. Check the water filters where the hose screws on to the washer.

The lock cannot be disabled, The lid removes easily and is also simple to replace.
Depending on where in the world you are depends on where you will get a lid, If you do a google search in your area for whirlpool spares you will get some results.

Unfortunately the lid lock id there to prevent the lid from being opened during the cycle so there is no way to do it.

The lid lock is broken, can it be unhooked, machine will not engage with lid unlocked.


Following is the Whirlpool service manual for their Cabrio washer, basically the same as the Kenmore Oasis.

It has a troubleshooting section as well as diagrams and instructions concerning the Lid Lock.
