File down load issues

How are you trying to download your pictures?
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Pictures can be downloaded over and over again. Have you looked anywhere else? How about in the "my pictures" folder? When you connect your camera to the computer, does it automatically connect to Photo Gallery or does it now just appear as a removable drive in "my computer"? If that's the case, all you have to do is double-click on that and your picture files will appear. You can create a folder on your desktop, select all the pictures and drag and drop them in the folder. From there, you can send them to Photo Gallery.

Fujitsu-Siemens P15 TFT power/picture problem. it take time to turn on.

It does indeed sounds like the capacitors, I had this problem last year with a Medion monitor where it would turn on and off, when I spoke to Medion they did say that it would need a repair but at the time I wasn't enclined to pay the repair fees for something that may happen again!

Personally I would stick with your plan of getting a new monitor because my view on monitor hardware issues is that if it's happened once it will happen again even if you do repair it resulting in a lot of hassle!

Downloading pictures to my computer

I don't use software or anything like that. Here is what I do:
1- Plug camera into USB cord (with it being plugged into your computer)
2- Turn on your camera, a blue screen will appear with options, select "PC"
3- Open your "My Computer" folder, you should now see a new drive, I have 2 hard drives so my camera is usually under "H://"
4- Select your picture(s) and drag and drop them into a folder or wherever it is you wish to store your pics. It will not remove them from your camera or memory card, it will simply copy them.
5- Power off your camera and remove the USB cord.

Simple as that! :) Again, that is just how I do it! I use Ulead PhotoImpact to edit my pics and such. Hope that helps!

If it's working fine in DOS, it can only be your display drivers for your operating system. What happes when you start in SAFE MODE? When you PC starts, keep pressing the F8 key, go to Safe Mode. If it works, bring the Resolution down to 800 X 600 and load the new display card drivers. Restart, should be fine.

If this error message appears, turn off the camera and remove the batteries for 30 seconds. Afterwards, reinsert the batteries and turn the camera back on. Perform a manual reset of the camera.
