Having problems programing my new remote for an existing door opener. Tryed unplugging it and nothing works, what to do.

Rick, if you just bought the remote new, be sure you have a compatible one with the old opener. These are tricky because some lookalikes aren't interchangeable. Did you refer to the programming directions for your unit? The color of the program button on the opener unit is a good way to identify the correct remote frequency and thus the correct remote. Also, were you having trouble with the old remote? Then maybe you problem is not the new remote at all. Which remote did you buy and what is the make of your opener and what color is the program button on it?

How do I re-program my Remote Control with automatic starter on my 2009 Town and Country Van

My experience with frequently-used vehicle remotes (any make) is this:
1. When relatively new or in good condition, if remote stops working, the button battery inside is dead or too low.

2. If battery is new, & remote still doesn't work, a solder joint on the circuit board inside may have come loose or broken.(You can try re-soldering using a low-heat pencil iron & thin RESIN-core solder -- even if you're not great at it, what do you have to lose?)

3. It's rather unusual for even an older, well-used remote to simply lose its programming. If this is the problem, it may be cheaper to buy a new after-market remote (or pair of remotes) that you can program yourself (only works with some brands & years of vehicles, so READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THEIR WEBSITE BEFORE BUYING AN AFTER-MARKET REMOTE), instead of going to the dealer for a normally HIGH-priced programming job.

4. Used OEM remotes that match yours exactly (check the part # of your remote & the used one you're considering) can often be purchased from a local auto wrecker (now called "auto recycler") for cheap ($5 to $10 is common), but will need programming.I always go thru the many they have, looking for one that appears new or like-new.

5. IF YOU MUST GET PROGRAMMING FROM A DEALER, usually it's the SAME PRICE whether you have 1 remote or several remotes/keys programmed at the same time.Since dealer programming is pricey, I always have 3-4 remotes and/or chip-keys programmed at the same time.(My dear wife loses chip-keys & remotes from time-to-time, so I keep a few spares on-hand.I've found inexpensive after-market chip-key blanks at some key cutters and/or auto parts stores, altho they still require programming after the copy is cut from yours.)

CAUTION
:Some OEM anti-theft systems require that ALL remotes & chip-keys be programmed/re-programmed at the same time, whether they're original, used or new.Determine this IN ADVANCE, so you know what you're faced with. The good news is that for those vehicle manufacturers, dealers normally don't charge more to program/re-program multiple remotes and/or chip-keys, if all are being done AT THE SAME TIME.

6. If all else fails & you MUST buy a new OEM remote (which will require programming), try 2 things -- First, see if the dealer will make you a package deal on buying the remote (or 2 remotes, or a remote & a chip-key) AND doing the programming for a lower combined price.Second, it may be cheaper to buy a new OEM remote from a dealer who's had one in stock for a long time & wants to blow it out (or buy from online OEM seller) & then pay the normal programming price.See the CAUTION above.

There are lots of options here, so hopefully something is useful to you.

I can't get my older garage door remotes to program with the new unit.Do I have to buy new remotes?

SORRY TO SAY.THE ANSWER IS YES.
THE NEW OPENERS ARE NOT ON THE SAME FREQUENCY.

YOU CAN PURCHASE REMOTES THAT WILL WORK WITH BOTH OLD AND NEW OPENERS (DUAL FREQUENCY).
BUT, OLD REMOTES WILL NOT WORK WITH THE NEW OPENERS.

Unable to program new sender to receiver. The receiver should flash three time but the diode lights up a fourth time for a period and the sender is not programmed.

This is the procedure for remote to remote programming, try this!

Step 1. Using a old programmed remote that is already up and running.
Step 2. Press the button for five seconds of the new remote you want to activate and release.
Step 3. Press slowly three times the old remote button.
Step 4. Press the button again slowly and release control.
Step 5. Verify that the new remote works.

Toshiba Color Television 36A43 Lost the original remote and purchased a universal remote. Tried to program using all four systems to no avail. I require the universal remote code to program for this TV

Place one remote on table, place other (new) remote facing old remote, then push the program button on new remote, remotes IR screens has to face each other to make this work. and if you've tried to program the new one before, you will have to clear the new ones memory first. Good luck.

To program new remotes: turn key to the on position; within 10 seconds, press and release the programming switch one time. Press the switch once more and HOLD. Have new keyless remote, how do i program it? 2006 Uplander

The dealer should be able to program it for you. When I bought mine, the dealer could not find the keyless remote, they took another remote for a different van and they just programmed it right there and then.

How to program a new remote keyless entry for 2002

1. Press LOCK button 5 times at 2 second intervals to resynchronize remote.
2. Insert key into the ignition switch. Turn ignition to the RUN position (as far as you can
go without cranking engine). Wait for ignition chimes to stop.

3. Using the working remote, press and hold the UNLOCK button on the remote for 4 to 10
seconds.

4. Within the specified 4 to 10 seconds, continue pressing the UNLOCK button and then
press the PANIC button ( on the programmed remote ) for 1 second and release both
buttons. A chime will sound to indicate that the remote programming mode has been
entered ( allow 3 seconds for chime to sound ).

5. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons
simultaneously then press and release just the UNLOCK button on the same remote.
A chime will sound indicating the remote has been programmed. Press and release
the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously and then press the UNLOCK button on
each new remote you wish to program at this time. Locks will cycle after each additional
remote is programmed.

6. Turn the ignition OFF and remove key.
7. Test Remotes.

How do i program my remote

I went to the Comcast website and there they have directions to program their remote. The only problem is there are several remotes listed and it is difficult to pick out the one you have so it is a bit of trail and error until you find the right directions.
