that a pincushion problem likely caused by a failed capacitor

Hourglass Shape

If there is a hour glass shape to the image but convergence is normal, there are 2 possibilities. You either have a pincushion correction problem or if the hour glass seems to be moving, it will be an open filter capacitor in the power supply.

Unless you are electronically inclined troubleshooting this issue will require a factory trained service technician. You can expect to spend $300-$400 to fix this.

Pt-47wx49e convergence problem

I just replaced the 2 convergance chips, but it did not seem to fix the problem. I then tested all the resistors that feed the convergence chips anf there was a 2.2 ohm fusable blown. IT was R7050 on mine. That seemed to fix it so that I could adjust all the colors through the convergence 2 screen. There seems to be a slight bow near the bottom when you look at the c2 screen, but not noticable when you are watching a picture. Since I got this broken, I am not sure how perfect it should be.

If anyone can send me the service manual, I would appretiate it. Thanks.

Can not see subject to take picture on lcd screen it is black

ive opened the canon powershot 1s IS. id had the problem that the LCD stated black from the beginning.

i opened the lens(is that an english word for all the glasses???) and i saw what the problem was.

to take a picture, a very small (valve??) opens and closes very fast. this valve? was sticked together by something like glue. i removed the glue(smaller than one piece of sand) and the camera works fine.

i'm sorry for my bad english, but i'm dutch.

its easy and done whitin 2 hours.

succes!

Hour glass as picture

It is possible that your television needs to be degaussed. Gaussing occurs in televisions that have magnets, (usually speakers) placed to close to the unit. A degaussing coil can be purchased at a good electronic supply store. Simply follow the instructions that come with it. If this does not fix the problem, the television will require repair by a qualified service center.

The picture is convexed,or hour glass.

Sounds like problem in B+ voltage line to horizontal output transistor. Possible bad filter capacitor or leaky diode in power supply.
