How do i address envelopes on my lenovo Windows 7 computer

The simplest method of addressing envelopes is to use a word processing application such as Microsoft Word.
If you do not have Word then I would recommend downloading and installing a copy of Kingsoft Office Suite Free 2012 which is compatible with the latest versions of Microsoft Office documents and is free for home users.
Once the application is installed, open Kingsoft Writer 2012 (which is very similar to Microsoft Word).
Click on File then on Page Setup and select the Paper page tab where you can then choose the Paper size to use for your envelopes.
In the Paper size drop down selection listing, choose an envelope size such as C6 Env.
If you are unsure which option to choose, then simply measure the size of the envelopes you are wanting to print on and set the Width and Height values (in centimetres) to match that size.
Next switch back to the Margins page and select the Orientation that you want to use for your envelopes, i.e. Landscape or Portrait.
On this same page you can also increase the Margins to position your address text more centrally on the envelope.
Click on OK to exit Page Setup.
Type your address on the main Kingsoft Writer page and you are ready to print the envelope on your printer.
Kingsoft Writer can also use Mail Merge to write a series of addresses on a stack of envelopes if you need to write a number of addresses.
Simply create a list of your addresses in the Kingsoft Spreadsheets application, putting each 'address field' in a separate 'box' in the new spreadsheet so that you have a column each of 'Names', 'Address line 1', Address line 2, Town, County, Post code etc.
Then in Writer, click on Tools, Mail Merge toolbar, then in the toolbar, click on the left icon to Select Data Source and select your addresses spreadsheet document.
Next, click on the icon for Insert Merge Field and select all the address fields to insert into your new Envelope document.
Finally, adjust the layout of the fields by moving fields on to new lines as needed. You can also change the font and character size of the new address fields to make the text larger or bolder etc.
Last of all, click on the icon for View Merged Data which will show you what your addresses will look like when printed on the envelopes - you can step through the list of addresses using the controls in the toolbar.

Printing envelopes

Instructions for how to print will vary based on your software.
The instructions for loading envelopes and the specifications for the types of envelopes you can use are in the User's Guide for the product.

How to address envelopes

Should be a feature in your software ... I use both MS Office and "Open Office" both have a feature that will allow you to print an envelope for the immediate letter and a template if you just wamt to make multiple copies of the same ...

MS Office of course is a fee based license product of Microsoft. Open Office is a no fee based licensed product of Sun ... "open source" find it here: http://www.openoffice.org/

Printing large (6.1 X 8.13) Costco Envelopes Mac OS 10.6, Word

Yep, I reckon you will be addressing them by hand.

HP specifications are:
Basis weight < 90 gsm
Max 5.5 mil single layer thickness
< 5mm curl
< 6% moisture
Max size = B5
Corners need to be well folded, with no more than 2 thicknesses of paper
Envelopes must lay flat
Paper grain should be diagonal to the direction of feed
No clasps, snaps, ties, strings or windows.
Do not use envelopes made of synthetic materials
Use the manual feed tray
Use the face up output bin
Do not use envelopes having an open flap with adhesive exposed, have very smooth, shiny, rough, textured or deeply embossed surfaces, or irregular shape.

As you can see, there are plenty of do's and don'ts. Envelope feeding is always tricky, especially if the envelopes are not specifically designed and made for Laser printers,

Good luck!

Can't print DL envelopes on a Pixma iP4600

Hi ...

If you like to print DL envolopes, check the below 3 points and I am sure you will be able to print from your printer.

Prepare the printer:
  1. Open the Rear Tray and pull out the Paper Support. Put your finger in the rounded indent of the Paper Support and pull it out until it stops. (See <1> in Figure 1 below.)

  2. Open the Paper Output Tray. Put your finger in the rounded indent beside the Paper Output Tray and open it gently. (See <2> in Figure 1 below.)

  3. Open the Output Tray Extension. Open up and set the Output Tray Extension completely by pressing down the hollow on its front side. (See <3> in Figure 1 below.)

  4. Adjust the position of the Paper Thickness Lever. Set it to the right when printing on envelopes or T-shirt transfers, and left when printing on any other type of paper. (See <4> in Figure 1 below.)

Note: Reset the Paper Thickness Lever to the left when you finish printing. (See <3> in Figure 3 below.)

Preparing Envelopes to Load:
  1. Press down firmly on the edges of the envelopes to make the folds crisp. Also, press firmly on the area that corresponds to the edges of the back flap.

  2. Remove any curling by holding the edges diagonally and bending them gently.

  3. If the edges of the envelope are inflated or are curling, place the envelope on a flat surface. With a pen, press down while moving it from the center toward the edges of the envelope.

  4. Ensure that no curl or puff exceeds 1/8 in. (3 mm).

Unsuitable Envelopes:
  • Envelopes with an embossed or treated surface
  • Envelopes with a double flap or pressure seals
Printer Driver Settings:
  1. Select Envelope in Media Type.
  2. Select the size for envelopes.

    * In Windows, select DL Env. or Comm. Env. #10 in Page Size.
