How do you adjust length of washing programme.

Change the wash settings and the cycle time will change along with the options. Most machines have a 'quick cycle' to shorten wash time, or you can choose "heavy" and "pre-wash" to make an extra long cycle... Depends on the model.

Each letter has a cycle length, the bigger the gap the longer the cycle, So it depends on how long you want your underwear washed for, If it is a short cycle turn the dial to the letter with the short cycle and turn it on! Hope this helps.

We just installed a new kenmore dishwasher yesterday. Model 13242 It has been running for almost2 hours and is still on the washing cycle--no water in it however--is this normal? I'm in a bit of a panic as...

THAT IS NOT NORMAL!!!!!!! A normal wash and dry cycle will take approx. 2 hours in length including drying cycle.
You should see that water has been present in the machine within the first 2 minutes of the start of the wash cycle, you should also be able to hear the water entering the wash tub.
The fill valve or water supply seems to be the issue, if the water doesn't enter the tub then the controller won't proceed witht the wash cycle. Double check your water supply tube / hose to make sure there is water present at the connection to the dishwasher.
GOOD LUCK !

What determines the length in minutes of the Auto Wash cycle?

it is based on how dirty the water is at any given time in wash for example if water has not cleared of food deposits after for example an hour of wash time the program will be extended until turbidity sensor is happy and will revert to normal wash times.
