How do I replace a brake booster on a 1998 Buick LeSabre? Brakes hold but make a whooshing when applied.

May not be the booster as some do make a noise when the brakes are applied. To test press the brakes several times with engine off, Press the pedal down hard and start the engine , the pedal should move down slightly and there should be no whooshing sound . if the above is ok so is the booster.

1993 buick lesabre changed the front rotars and pads and now the cars brake pedal is so hard to push down to get car to stop. Mechanic has checked both the front and back brakes and they are fine. T

I would jack up a front wheel and see if pushing on the pedal with the engine running will stop the wheel from turning.
You need to know if the pressure is reaching the wheels, or if the pads and rotors are too slick to stop the car.
Usually if the pedal is hard, the booster is not working or the brakes are glazed.
Can you stop the car with the parking brake ? That only uses the rear brakes.
You may need a second opinion from a different shop.

I have a 1994 buick and i have no brakes i bleed them and still nothing pedal goes all the way to the floor.

YOU NEED A TECH 1 SCANNER TO MOTOR REHOME FUNCTION PISTONS IN THE ABS BRAKE MODULATOR SHOULD BE RETURN TO THE UPPER MOST POSITION.BEFORE YOU CAN BLEED BRAKES.IF YOU DONT HAVE TECH 1 SCANNER SAFELY RAISE SUPPORT FRONT OF VECHICLE USING JACK STANDS. WITH FRONTS WHEELS OFF GROUND EMERGENCY BRAKE APPLIED WITH PUT VECHICLE IN DRIVE LET WHEELS SPIN AT 5 MILES PER HOUR THEN APPLY BRAKE PUT VECHICLE BACK IN PARK.TURN OFF CAR. THEN WAIT FEW MINUTES THEN START ENGINE AGAIN IF THE AMBER ABS LIGHT STILL FLASHES AND DONT TURN OFF HAVE VECHICLE TOWED IN LET DEALERSHIP PRESSURE BLEED AND USE THE TECH 1 SCANNER TO BLEED AND FIX YOU BRAKES FOR YOU.

HOW DO YOU BLEED BRAKES FOR A 1999 BUICK LESABRE

Same as a clutch. Get a couple bottles of dot3 fluid, a small crescent wrench and someone else's leg. Take off cap to reservoir and fill if needed. Have other person pump the brake pedal and then hold to the floor. You open the bleeder nipple (on brake assembly) until it stops dripping/squirting. Close bleeder. Fill reservoir if needed. Repeat 3 times. Do other side same way. Put cap back on reservoir. Drive and test.

Brake pedal goes squishy and fluid in the front of the engine on top..not back by the master cylinder

If you look down under the radiator in the area of the power steering pump, nestled in the crossmember you should see some brake lines going in and out of a rectangular steel block. It should also have a single wire going in the top. That is the proportioning valve which adjusts brake pressure to the wheels. One of these lines is likely the source of your leak. Hope this helps.

My 1990 Buick Lesabre shakes at 40 mph what do I do?

Check front engine mounts. Open hood, hold brake pedal down, put car in drive, press gas pedal down a little and see if engine jumps up due to a broken mount.

My 1999 buick lesabre has a dinging noise when a brake sensor

This means your master cylender is low on brake fluid , top it off with brake fluid and that should solve your problem . You should find out where the brak fluid is going .

Sometimes (when changing the brake calipers on disk brakes, or changing wheel cylinders on drum brake systems) the mechanic will clamp a vise grip pliers on the rubber hose to prevent hydraulic fluid from dripping out.  This can break the internal fiber lining in the rubber hose.  Then the fluid flow can be blocked.  When you press the brake pedal, fluid may not flow to the wheel or wheels.  As you press harder, the fluid may suddenly flow through the line, causing the brakes to suddenly activate.
Or an even more likely problem, your brakes drag (stay on) and get hot, because the fluid cannot flow back to the master cylinder when you release the brake pedal.  In other words, when you press the brake you force fluid through a partially blocked rubber hose.  But the return of the fluid (backwards through the rubber hose) is caused not by pressure, but just by equilibrium, a balancing act.  Well, if the line (rubber hose) is blocked, the fluid stays in the caliper or wheel cylinder, and the brake is still on, and the brake gets hot.

Sticking gas pedal on 1999 buick LeSABRE

actually my dad had the same problem with the gas pedal sticking on his low milage 1999 Buick LeSabre. As a result of this problem, he was involved in a wreck and the car was totaled. We have been told by his mechanic that this is a problem with that year of LaSabre.
