Cartridge error 31.03 error replace defective or missing cartridge. The cartridge is NOT missing. Just new.

SOURCE: Lexmark X342n 31.05 Missing or defective cartridge error. how can I fix this, please?

Make sure the cartridge is genuine. If yes, uninstall and reinstall the pc unit and the toner cartridge.
If you get the same error a firmware fix may resolve the problem. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.

Black Cartrige Missing


Did you use a brandname ink cartridge - or is it a knock-off brand? If it is a brand name - then the cartridge is most likely defective. If it is a knock-off brand - some printers do not recognize the electronic in the cartridge and therefore don't see it as one being installed.

William Casper is correct. The error message means that the cartridge is missing or defective. Please replace the cartridge.

Hello I have a problem with the work printer. It is a 3500 hp color laser jet and it is having a 10.10.00 supply memory error. I'm not sure what to do. Can you please help me?

Missing memory on supply
Black print cartridge

1. Open and close the front door.
2. Ensure the cartridges are fully seated.
3. Swap the cartridge for the color indicated with a cartridge in another slot to determine whether the error follows the cartridge or stays with the slot. If the error follows the cartridge, replace that cartridge, otherwise, continue with step 4.
4. Check the memory controller PCB contacts to the memory tag. Clean if dirty.
5. Reseat the memory controller PCB connector J201 and DC controller PCB connector J1025.
6. Defective memory controller PCB, replace the memory controller PCB.
7. Defective DC controller PCB, replace the DC controller PCB

Try the following:

1. Open the printer access door.
2. Put out both ink cartridges and the printhead.
3. Let the printer access door open.
4. Put out all paper.
5. Pull out the ac adapter at the back of the printer.
6. Wait 60 sec.
7. Pull in AC adapter.
8. Wait 30 sec. then turn on the printer
9: Wait for the error message: Printer access door open.
10. Close the printer access door.
11. Wait for the error message: Printhead is missing.
12. Open the access door and put in only the printhead and the close the access door.
13. Wait for the error message: both ink cartridges are missing.
14. Open access door, put in only the black ink cartridge, then close the acess door.
15. Wait for the error message: Color ink cartridge is missing.
16. Open access door, put in the color ink cartridge and then close the access door.

If the error is solved, do a firmwareupdate right now.

My printer says error 1203 catridge error...can you help me with this...I can not find my owners manual?


The error 1203 error message on the operator panel could indicate a problem with one of the ink cartridges. Please follow the steps given below:
1. Please make sure the All-In-One is powered on.
2. Pull the control panel towards you, and then open the cartridge access door. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position.
3. Pull the old cartridges towards you, and then lift them out.
4. With the cartridges out of the printer, shut the access door and the control panel.
5. Power the printer OFF and then back ON.
6. Please check the operator panel to see if the same error has returned or if a new message has appeared.
7. If the message displayed is 1203, there is something wrong with the printer hardware.
If the message now displaying is Cartridge Missing, do the following:

1. Reinstall the cartridges into the printer.
2. Insert the color cartridge in the left carrier. Insert the black cartridge in the right carrier.
3. Push back firmly on the cartridges until they snap securely into place.
4. Close the cartridge access door, and then close the control panel.

Error #12 Shows on my lexmark x4270 all in one how do i clear it


Hello there,

In my experience I've never come across an error #12 on a X4270. I've seen an error 1200 & error 1203 a couple of times. Did you get this error after installing a new cartridge? then there are chances that the new cartridge that you installed is defective. The best way to figure if out is to take both the cartridge out and power recycle the printer with the cartridge out. Check out if the operator panel says "cartridge missing" when it is powered back on. If it doesn't say "cartridge missing" then the printer hardware is defective. You would need to get it serviced. If the printer comes up with "cartridge missing" message, then either one of the two carts that you have is defective. I would suggest you to insert one cart first and close the cover and check if it says "cartridge missing" If it does come up with that message then insert the other cart too.. If you get Error 1203 on after inserting a cart, then that cart is defective and needs to be replaced.

The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position. Press down on the cartridge lever to raise the cartridge lid. Remove the cartridges. With the cartridges out of the printer, close the top cover. Power the printer OFF and then back ON. Check the operator panel to see if the 1203 error has returned or if a new message is displayed. If the message displayed is 1203, there is something wrong with the printer hardware. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support. If the message is Cartridge Missing, reinstall the cartridges into the printer. Insert the black cartridge in the left carrier. Insert the color cartridge in the right carrier. Snap the lids closed. Close the top cover. Check the operator panel. If the 1203 message is still present, you need to insert one cartridge at a time to determine which cartridge is producing the failure. With one cartridge in the carrier, close the top cover and check the operator panel. If the 1203 message is displayed, that cartridge is producing the error. If Cartridge Missing is displayed, the second cartridge is the defective item. Please replace the defective cartridge.
