I had similar problem with HP tablet which was not answered by them. Later I found it has got DEEP DISCHARGE problem.ie. it is allowing the battery to go to deepdischarge stage due to circuit problem. The circuit should make itself dead and prevent the battery to go to that level. Virtually the battery enters into COMA stage ! Keep it in switch off stage for 48 hours with charging on - so that the battery comes to life again and charges itself. Later my tablet is OK.
There is little info on your problem but I think you mean the screen went black while downloading a film. Normally computer monitors turn themselves off (dormant) to save energy and the life of the monitor's screen if not used for 10 or 30 minutes, depending on the settings, but the download just keeps going. Mine is set to 10 minutes. All you have to do is disturb the Mouse and see if the monitor screen switches itself on. There is another power saving option, and that is the Computer itself. If the computer is not used for one hour, it too goes dormant, but can also be set to switch itself completely off after the download is completed. However, if a computer is left on for over an hour, it can switch itself off to save energy and the computer's own wear and tear. It all depends on the computer hardware and the settings. If it is hardware controlled, then it may or may not switch itself off but it still goes dormant. Or it can be set to whatever you wish it to do, stay on all the time, go dormant after a set time or switch off if there is no prolonged activity.
Provided that your lamp is not reaching the end of its life, there have been some issues with the lamp door switch opening due to thermal expansion of the plastic. I would bypass the two wire switch altogether to eliminate this possibility, it won't affect the operation of the TV. If the set still shuts down, and there is no on screen display mentioning a fan failure, replace the lamp. Part number is listed on the lower left side of the TV with red label.
Check the Wii remote battery life. Dead batteries in Wii remotes can cause the Wii console to turn itself off. If this is the problem, remove the dead batteries and insert new ones. If they're rechargeable, recharge the batteries.
If this is not the problem, your Wii console might not be working properly. Visit support.nintendo.com or call 1-800-255-3700 for more information.

Q. What does the VOX switch do? When the VOX function is active, both the LCD screen & Audio turn off and will automatically reactivate when there is noise in the room being monitored (e.g. baby crying). This feature is useful at night so the light coming from the screen doesn't bother you and also when running the MobiCam Ultra receiver on batteries since it will extend the life of the batteries. Note: The VOX function will not work when batteries are low and you cannot change channels on the receiver in the VOX mode
Call you Service Provider and find out if there is a common problem with the particular model and its battery going flat, as this happends with many Nokia N95s. There could be a fault with your battery,
or what u consider small usage could actually just be the expected battery life for the phone, confirm this in the Manual.
