Snow blower works great but belt keeps burning and getting loose.

Hi Alan:
A burning belt is usually an indication that the belt is slipping.
Slipping can occur as a result of it not being tight enough, or because it is experiencing load that exceeds the friction that exists between the belt and the drive pulley.
I would check the belt tensioner (spring) to make sure it is adjusted TIGHT, and try to avoid really loading up the auger/fan assembly.
Hope this helps.

Trying to figure out why i am having squealing issue all new altternator power steering pump pulleys and belts

Belts normally squeal when they slip and they slip because they're not tight enough or in the case of a V belt because they're too narrow. Make sure they're tight enough and they're the right belt.

The belt is tight why does it still slip

Hello, If the walk belt is tight, you will want to remove the motor hood and watch that the drive belt and motor are staying at the correct speed when the walk belt slips. The most likley cause is the front drive pully on the front roller. This sometimes looses adheshion with the front roller and slips, usually when you are running. After it gets reallt bad it will slip when walked on.

Hope this helps.

The belt is squealing like it's slipping, but appears to be tight, can it be too tight?

To tight should not cause squealing, if it is a serpentine belt check the splines on the inside if they come to a point or are sharp then the belt is wore out. They need to have a flat spot on each spline to keep it from slipping.Hope this helps.

After a few minutes of using my vacume it starts to smell like burnt rubber. like the belt is burningthe only belt I can see looks fine and is turning the brush

but how tight is the belt and how easy is the brush to turn? if the belt is slopy it will slip on the motor drive spindle,,,and it will get very hot then,,, also if the brush head is tight that makes the belt slip too,

Timing belt on 1996 mazda protege slips during startup

Hello, this to me sounds like your fan belt slipping (not timing belt). To adjust the fan belt you need to undo your bolt on the alternator, pull it tight onto the fan belt and while holding it tight do the bolt back up tightly. this will stop yoour fan belt from slipping. I hope this helps.

Slips once and a while

Ther are two adjustments to check, the tightness of the walking belt(the screws at the back of the treadmill) and the tightness of the motor drive belt under the motor cover.

I tighten the screws behind the belt but it still slips as i walk

Sounds like the motor drive belt is slipping, remove the motor cover,be careful some models have hidden screws in recessed areas underneath if you remove the correct ones the hood comes off easily. There is a bracket that has a bolt to adjust the motor belt tension. Also if you tightened the walk belt up it may be too tight which could cause it to wear or tear easier, the rule of thumb is tighten the walk belt just tight enough so it doesn't slip.
