Why does power steering fluid leaks out on left side ? makes whining noise i fill it up with in an hr its gone whats the problem?

You obviously have a leak. It should be very easy to find, first, crank engine & refill power steering reservoir to proper level. Then have someone turn the steering wheel slowly while you look around the pump, hoses & rack & pinion unit. Wherever the leak is you will see fluid leaking when the steering wheel is being turned. You can also turn the wheel all the way to either the left or right until the wheel binds up, (which puts the system to full pressure and at the same time keep pressure applied to the wheel) and you will definitely find the leak. It's probably going to be 1 of your pressure hoses. Be careful driving it until you get the leak fixed as you can burn your pump up by running it without/low on fluid. Hope this helps.

My wheel is almost impossible to turn. It started with just getting tight and every 2- 3 days I would have to refill the power steering fluid. I'm almost positive it was leaking from somewhere. But today I...

You first need to find where the fluid is leaking from.. Then you need to check the pump as running the pump with insufficient fluid will cause damage. Most likely, the fluid is leaking from the pressure hose, somewhere between the pump and the rack although the rack could also be leaking. Look around for a buildup of moisture or wet mud and dirt. Have a look under the car for oil dripping when you have the engine running and someone turning the steering. It may be that the rack and the pump have failed due to lack of fluid..

My power steering pump makes a growling noise even when the car is idle. The noise is louder when I turn the steering wheel. The power steering fluid has gotten low a couple of times and gets foamy.

if gets low definitely a leak foam is pump mixing fluid with air roar is pump cavitation check lines or pump for leak keep fluid at recommended level air bound unit can cause steering difficulty and or failure if need have trained mech look into problem

Power steering dont work to left or right

To find out witch it is,pump or rack and pinion, break loose the presure line on the power steering pump with a wench.Start the car and turn the steering wheel back and forth, you may need to loosen the nut on the power steering hose two or three turns to get the fluid to shoot out.It should come out pretty forceful. If it doesn`t,then replace the pump.If it does come out really powerful, replace the rack and pinion.

Power steering leak

To try to find the leak, purchase a spray can of engine cleaner and spray the entire area of the pump and hoses. Then wash off with a garden hose. Fill pump reservoir with fluid. Have someone turn the steering wheel while you look in that area of the pump and hoses with a flashlight for the leak. Be careful of rotating fan and belts!

Right rear brake has slow brake fluid leak. It's a 99' Ford Taurus

leaking fluid will not cause a brake to lock up unless the wheel cylinder is leaking and caused the brake shoe to swell. If so, you need a new wheel cylinder.
