Washing machine fills with water while sitting idle.

Another problem could be the inlet solenoid is failing to close properly, this could be caused by either an obstruction in the sealing part of the solenoid valve, a damaged or worn out seal or if the water pressure is too low. (some solenoids require water pressure to close off properly). To test this idea turn off the taps when not in use. If the water is still filling the tub, the back flow / syphoning idea may be valid. Also just to rule the idea out, turn off the tap to the machine and remove the inlet hose, if the tap "drips" this "trickle" of water maybe the culprit. If turning off the inlet tap fixes the problem you may need to replace the inlet solenoid.

Sounds like the water inlet valve is faulty. It the part the allows water to come into the washer. When the washer is turned off or not running, water should not enter the machine.

It's a relatively easy part to replace. Unplug the machine, turn off the water faucets and remove the water supply hoses from the back of the machine. Remove the back panel and disconnect the inlet valve and replace with a new one. Replacement parts should be available at your local appliance repair house or online such as repairclinic.com. Hope this helps you.

I have a Kenmore 600 washermachine it won't spin or rinse. It would fill up with water and go all the way through the cycle until it got to the last rinse cycle and just stop and make a buzzing noise...

hi there the first thing ill tell you is that the washer needs to drain water before it can spin there are only a few factors that prohibit this operation a faulty lid switch secound a blown or blocked water pump being a fisher paykel they are famous for jammed water pumps as they decided when they built the sysyem to turn the water pump upside down this causes a lot of stress on the water pump see if you can lay the hose on the ground and get all the water out i belive the machine will then start to spin dry. in this case it is the water pump and have it replaced its a simple operation if you can order the part fromf/p you simply turn the washer on its side depress the white latch next to the pump turn the pump clockwise till ity release from machine disconnect power supply plug and fit new unit as per reverse

best of luck

Maytag Model #MAT13MNAGW When the machine gets to the spin cycle it doesn't spin but makes a buzzing sound. Something like the buzzing sound that a welder makes when the rod sticks.

this means that there is something stuck inside your drain pump.if you still have water in the machine you can use a wet/dry shop vac and attach it to the end of the drain hose and remove all the water in the tub.
once that is done check your drain pump for obstructions if there is no obstruction look at the hose that comes down from the bottom of the tub to the drain pump

My washer wont let water in....it spins... but it wont let any water into the machine

Turn off water, take one hose off and stick in tub, turn on the water to this hose and verify your water pressure is there(no frozen lines) Look and see if screen looks clear inside valve before reattaching, turn water back on,,,,,,,,, If you hear a buzz when pulling out timer knob in agitation area it means you have power to valve, water valve is bad. (one solenoid for hot, one for cold)
If this is a standard top load unit(direct drive style) It has the pressure switch and timer controlling power to the valve
There are other answers on this site about removing the cabinet to service,
which you should check

THE TUB OF THE WASHER GETS REALLY LOW WHEN IS FILLED WITH WATER. NOW, ALSO THE WATER DOSENT COME IN WHEN I TURN IT ON

All top suspend tub washers drop down when they fill with water. And they rise again when they have pumped the water out. This is normal.
What is not normal is water not coming in.'

check following:
Water is turned on
Remove inlet hose and run water to see if it is blocked.
Clean the inlet filters.
If you hear a buzz but no water goes in the inlet valve needs replacing.
If yu use only cold water try swapping the cold hose onto the Hot inlet. Then select Warm Wash.
Then only turn on the Cold Tap.
This will allow you to fill the machine and do a wash.
Watch out though when it comes to the Rinse position......some machines only do a cold rinse, and because you have swapped the hose over to hot it will not fill to rinse the clothes. Until you can get a Tech to do the repair you can just use either a bucket to add cold water for the rinse or use the garden hose to fill the tub with cold water for the rinse.
Have yu got all that?
