Question about Panasonic PV-C2061 20 in. TV/VCR Combo

1 Answer

My Panasonic 27" Omnivision TV set (PV_C2542) flickers intermittently until I jiggle the cable conection into a new position. Sometimes the TV image goes off entirely and appears as a blue screen. Sometimes it works fine for a few hours. The cable connection itself is not loose but the whole metal box it goes into is slightly loose on the circuit board that connects to it. The VCR mode works ok as far as I can tell. The flickering started before the national change over to HDTV. A few months ago my cable company changed to accept either my old plain TV or the new HDTV. My two old TV sets had no problems with the transition. Is there any way to fix my old Panasonic TV? Thanks

Your tv set need parts Resoldering.
intermittent color changing is cause by cold solder joints.
have it serviced by a reliable electronic repair center or person.
you should not be charge a lot.

if you wish to fix it yourself,
you need a Soldering Iron (about 60watts) and soldering Lead (60/40).
air blower (for fast Cleaning) or
[1inch paint brush (for cleaning)]
unplug and place your set to your work bench then open the back cover.
(since you say its old, expect lots of dirt/dust inside your set, use the blower for easy cleaning).
if you have completely access of the solder side of the circuit, just resolder the joints. BE CAREFUL... DO NOT CONNECT SEPARATE JOINTS.

if you don't have experience with electronics i advise you have it to a repair person.

hope this helps you!

Picture on my Panasonic PV-DF2700 flickers and then there's a blue screen. Cable company says signal is going to TV. Is the TV history?

Hello, the tuner could be ready to go out entirely, but you can still view your cable TV through your Auxiliary input jacks(video/audio colored jacks) most of the cable boxes ave these outputs in the rear all you need is the RCA cable(yellow/red/white) and select the video input you want to use. The other solution is to replace the tuner. You can order one through www.partstore.com or directly from panasonic at their website www.panasonic.com.

You need to program the VCR (which turns the sey on/off) as an aux, then program any Panasonic TV type for TV, and then set the STB button to control STB, TV and AUX and you should be set.

Loss of picture and sound repeatedly

You already hit the nail in the head, the problem might be the actual conector loose inside the set or the tuner has loose conections to the main board, the shell of the tuner is the ground make sure the conections are solid,if you are familiar with tv service this will help but if you are not too familiar be safe and call for help, right now it should not be expensive.
